This master's thesis was developed in the framework of the "Greek Philosophy - Philosophy of Science" postgraduate program of the Department of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina and is the fruit of an effort fueled by the desire to engage in the philosophical thought of Eugenios Voulgaris, a Modern Greek philosopher, who played a particularly important role in the field of philosophy. In the context of this research, it was considered appropriate to point out how the philosophical thinking of thinker exploits in his Logic, and indeed in his anthropology and knowledge, elements from ancient Greek philosophical and medical philosophical thought. This thesis consists of Prologue, Introduction, three parts, Critical Review- Conclusions and Bibliography. In the first part are given some guidelines for the issues to be presented, a brief introduction is given on the action and work of the author of Logic and a picture of the social events of the 17th and 18th centuries. Also, the content of the whole work of Logic is summarized, and the positions of the philosophers, Plato and Aristotle and the doctors, Hippocrates and Galen, on the human subject and the process of the acquisition of knowledge are listed. Subsequently, in the second and third part follows a detailed description of the passages drawn and used by Eugenios Voulgaris in support of his arguments by the famous doctors and philosophers of antiquity, whose names were mentioned above, in combination with an interpretative approach of the issues being discussed. At this point, it is worth noting that the passages used by Voul- garis in his logical treatise were quoted in stereotyped versions as the scholar uses the passages without quoting their exact page, and sometimes making mistakes in the wrong -register their location. At the same time, the insistence of the passages on the part of the Modern Greek philosopher was investigated or the recording of a part of them, as well as the deliberate omission of some suggestions. Hippocrates was studied by the philosopher, which is evident from the latter's references to the Hippocratic corpus and, above all, in two of his works, which are considered to be genuine spiritual children of Hippocrates, On Airs, Waters and Places and Aphorisms. The scholar uses the passages of the above- mentioned books, listing them either slightly modified or unaltered, in order to document his original position about the inferior position of the body in the process of accessing knowledge. Apart from Hippocrates, Voulgaris mentions the name of Galen, an eclectic philosopher - a common feature with the philosopher - who recalled the hippocratic treatises, giving a complete narrative of Hippocrates and medicine more widely. Eugenios Voulgaris' interest in Galen is testified by ten in terms of the number of doctors' writings. Apart from physicians, Eugenios Voulgaris also uses a large number of works by the philosophers, Plato and Aristotle. In particular, from the writings of the Athenian philosopher draws Crito, Timaeus, Laws, Theaititos, Symposium, Statesman, Sophist, Politeia and Alcibiades. The passages exploited relate to the contribution of body and soul to the cognitive process. Voulgaris accepts the Platonic position on the negative effect of the body to the soul, but rejects the theory of Athenian on implants ideas. In concluding with Aristotle, the Modern Greek thinker presents a series of twenty-one writings written by the philosopher, including the Aristotelian Organon. Voulgaris, in agreeing with Aristotle, refers to the passion for the knowledge that holds all the people and was the trigger of the first philosophers, coupled with the question. Also, describing the controversy over the concept of Logic as art or faith expresses its debauchery to this question and refers to the various names it hired (initially dialectical, then organisational, then normal and ultimately logical) but also as a way of knowing. In Critical Review-Conclusions, the conclusions drawn from the research, which show that the presence of the above sources in Logic, bear witness to the writing of a first history of the philosophy recorded by a Modern Greek thinker, revealing the latter's wisdom. It's a user-friendly, remarkable and instructive object-oriented manual for each student.en
