| heal.abstract | Η βίλα αποτελεί κληρονομιά του Αλέξανδρου Ιόλα ο οποίος υπήρξε μια εμβληματική μορφή στον παγκόσμιο καλλιτεχνικό κόσμο. Ο χώρος θα μπορούσε να χαρακτηριστεί ως σύγχρονο καταφύγιο τέχνης και πολιτισμού καθώς ο Ιόλας την είχε μετατρέψει σε ένα ζωντανό εκθεσιακό χώρο. Αποτελούσε σημείο συνάντησης της ελληνικής και διεθνούς καλλιτεχνικής πνευματικής και κοινωνικής ελίτ. Με αφετηρία τον βίο και το όραμα του Αλέξανδρου Ιόλα, δημιουργείται ένα queer πολιτιστικό κέντρο με πρόθεση προσέγγισης της ζωής που έκρυβε η βίλα όσο κατοικούσε εκεί ο συλλέκτης. Ένα μέρος της βίλας είναι ιδιωτικό και προάγει ένα κοινοβιακό τρόπο κατοίκησης που προάγει την συλλογικότητα και την ενότητα, εμπνευσμένο από τα queer houses της ballroom σκηνής του 80’. Σε σημεία του δημοσίου τμήματος της βίλας έχει τοποθετηθεί κόκκινο δίχτυ το οποίο έχει το ρόλο του υπνοδωματίου, και ταυτόχρονα επιχειρεί ένα σχόλιο στην σύγχρονη υποκριτική στάση της κοινωνίας που αποδέχεται και υποστηρίζει την «κρυφή σεξουαλική ζωή/ταυτότητα». Η υπόλοιπη βίλα αφήνεται ανοιχτή στο κοινό. Στο χώρο αναπτύσσονται δύο μόνιμες εκθέσεις ενώ ένα άλλο τμήμα της διατίθεται σε νέους LGBTQI+ καλλιτέχνες με σκοπό να εκθέτουν την τέχνη τους περιοδικά. | el |
| heal.abstract | The villa is the legacy of Alexandros Iolas, who was an iconic figure in the global art world. The space could be described as a modern haven of art and culture as Iolas had transformed it into a vibrant exhibition space. It was a meeting point for the Greek and international artistic, intellectual and social elite. Starting from the life and vision of Alexandros Iolas, a queer cultural center is being created with the intention of approaching the life that the villa hid while the collector lived there. Part of the villa is private and promotes a communal way of living that promotes collectivity and unity, inspired by the queer houses of the ballroom scene of the 80’. In parts of the public part of the villa, a red net has been placed, which has the role of a bedroom, and at the same time attempts to comment on the modern hypocritical attitude of society that accepts and supports the “hidden sexual life/identity”. The rest of the villa is left open to the public. Two permanent exhibitions are developed in the space, while another part of it is available to young LGBTQI+ artists with the aim of exhibiting their art periodically. | en |
