heal.abstractΗ πρόσληψη της κοινωνικής θεωρίας του Max Weber στην Κριτική Θεωρία απαιτεί την ανάλυση των κεντρικών εννοιών της ορθολογικότητας και της διαδικασίας του εξορθολογισμού. Η τελευταία έχει κατά τον Weber ως στόχο μια πλήρως εξορθολογι-σμένη κοινωνία, μολονότι η στάση του Weber είναι αμφιθυμική σε σχέση με την τελική της κατάληξη. Βάσει αυτής της αμφιθυμίας ο Herbert Marcuse ασκεί κριτική στις όχι αξιολογικά ουδέτερες έννοιες της ορθολογικότητας και της διαδικασίας του εξορθο-λογισμού στον ύστερο καπιταλισμό και απαιτεί μια ριζική αλλαγή της κοινωνίας διά «της Μεγάλης Άρνησης». Σε αντίθεση με τον Marcuse ο Jürgen Habermas θεωρεί τη διαδικασία του εξορθολογισμού ως σημαντική προκείμενη για τη διαμόρφωση της σύγχρονης κοινωνίας, ωστόσο υπογραμμίζει ταυτόχρονα τη σημασία της επικοινω-νιακής πράξης για τη γένεση μιας νέας κοινωνίας.el
heal.abstractThe reception of Max Weber’s social theory by Critical Theory requires the analysis of the central concepts of rationality and the rationalization process. According to Weber, the aim of that process is the formation of a society that is rationalized on all levels; nevertheless, Weber’s view of the outcome of the process remains ambiva-lent. Herbert Marcuse criticizes this ambivalence as well as the lack of neutrality in Weber’s use of the concepts of rationality and rationalization. He pleads for a radi-cal change of society by way of a “great refusal”. In opposition to Marcuse, Jürgen Habermas sees in the rationalization process a necessary premise to the construction of a modern society, emphasizing at the same time, the importance of communica-tive action within a new society.en
heal.abstractDie Rezeption von Max Webers Sozialtheorie in der kritischen Theorie erfordert eine Analyse der zentralen Begriffe von Rationalität und des Rationalisierungsprozesses. Letzterer hat nach Weber das Ziel einer durch und durch rationalisierten Gesell-schaft, wenngleich Webers Stellung zum Ausgang dieses Prozesses ambivalent ist. Aufgrund dieser Ambivalenz kritisiert Herbert Marcuse Webers nicht- wertfreien Be-griffe von Rationalität und Rationalisierung im Spätkapitalismus und fordert einen radikalen Wandel der Gesellschaft durch „die große Verweigerung“. Im Gegensatz zu Marcuse betrachtet Jürgen Habermas den Rationalisierungsprozess als wichtige Prämisse für die Bildung einer modernen Gesellschaft, betont aber gleichzeitig die Bedeutung kommunikativen Handelns für die Entstehung einer neuen Gesellschaft.de
