heal.abstractΑντικείμενο της παρούσας διατριβής αποτελεί η διερεύνηση της σχέσης ανάμεσα στην αρχιτεκτονική εκπαίδευση της École Nationale des Beaux-Arts του Παρισιού και στην αρχιτεκτονική παραγωγή, με βασικό ερευνητικό εργαλείο το αρχιτεκτονικό αρχείο του Βασιλείου Κουρεμένου. Το σώμα αναφοράς της μελέτης βασίστηκε, κυρίως, στο πρωτογενές αρχειακό υλικό, το οποίο αποτελείται από πρωτότυπα σχέδια, έντυπα, γύψινα γλυπτά και προπλάσματα γλυπτικών συνθέσεων και τμήμα της προσωπικής βιβλιοθήκης του Κουρεμένου. Η καταγραφή, η ταξινόμηση και η ανάλυση του υλικού επέτρεψε κατανόηση του παιδαγωγικού μοντέλου της Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών του Παρισιού και της περιρρέουσας πνευματικής ατμόσφαιρας, η οποία έθεσε τις βάσεις επάνω στις οποίες αναπτύχθηκε το αρχιτεκτονικό έργο του Βασιλείου Κουρεμένου, όπως αυτό τεκμηριώνεται μέσα από το αρχείο του. Στο πλαίσιο της μελέτης προσεγγίστηκε η γαλλική αρχιτεκτονική θεωρία του 18ου και 19ου αιώνα, υπό τη σταθερή ισχύ μιας ερμηνευτικής πρόθεσης στραμμένης προς την αρχιτεκτονική εκπαίδευση. Η μελέτη των χαρακτηριστικών της αρχιτεκτονικής διδασκαλίας του γαλλικού εκπαιδευτικού ιδρύματος οδήγησε σε συμπεράσματα σχετικά με την επιρροή της Beaux-Arts στην αρχιτεκτονική του 20ου αιώνα. Στόχο της έρευνας αποτέλεσε η ανίχνευση και ο εντοπισμός, στην αρχιτεκτονική παραγωγή του Βασιλείου Κουρεμένου αρχών, κοινών στοιχείων ή επινοήσεων που οδηγούν σε ένα ενιαίο συνθετικό ιδίωμα, το οποίο έχει τις ρίζες του στην πρακτική της γαλλικής Αρχιτεκτονικής Σχολής. Η σύντομη, αλλά ουσιώδης, θητεία του Κουρεμένου στη νεοσύστατη Σχολή Αρχιτεκτόνων του Ε.Μ.Π., οδήγησε στη μελέτη της αρχιτεκτονικής εκπαίδευσης στην Ελλάδα κατά τη διάρκεια του μεσοπολέμου. Στο πλαίσιο της έρευνας μελετήθηκε το πρόγραμμα σπουδών του ιδρύματος και ο τρόπος διδασκαλίας που επιχείρησε να εισάγει ο Κουρεμένος, σύμφωνα με το γαλλικό πρότυπο.el
heal.abstractThe aim of this thesis is the architectural education of Paris École des Beaux-Arts and the influence of the school on Vasilios Kouremenos’ architecture. The research was based on Vasilios Kouremenos’ archive, that consisted of original drawings, plaster sculptures and models of sculptural compositions and part of the architect’s personal library. The recording, classification and analysis of the material leads to the understanding of the pedagogical model of Paris École des Beaux-Arts and the ambient intellectual atmosphere, that laid the foundation on which the architectural work of Vasilios Kouremenos was developed, as testified through his archive. The study approaches the French architectural theory of the 18th and 19th century, under the constant effect of an interpretative intention oriented towards architectural education. The study of École des Beaux-Arts’ architectural education led to conclusions concerning the influence of Beaux-Arts architecture during the 20th century. The aim of the research is the detection of principles, common elements and innovations in Vasilios Kouremenos’ architectural production, that lead to a single synthetic idiom, which has its roots in the practice of the French institution. The succint, but significant, tenure of Vasilios Kouremenos at the newly established School of Architecture of National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A.), led us to the study of architectural education in Greece during the interwar period. The research focuses on the curriculum of the institution and the method of teaching that Kouremenos attempted to introduce, according to the French model.en
