heal.abstractWe discuss the situation, frequently arisen in general relativity, in which the background spacetime is multiply connected. The associated gravitational Aharonov-Bohm effect can induce a small, but arbitrary phase factor turning a massive point particle into an anyon. Possible implications of this are outlined.en
