Tunable near-i .r. laser pulses with a duration of 250-500 ps and a spectral bandwidth of 0 .1 A in the range of 733-807 nm were generated by a long cavity grazing incidence dye laser. The pulse duration depends on the cavity length and the feedback from both the front and the back reflectors . The main output pulse is accompanied by a pre-pulse and/or a post-pulse depending on the cavity configuration and length. The experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical calculations of Uchiki et al . With the introduction of an intracavity lens, it is possible to achieve long cavity lengths maintaining low losses. This way, the problem of single-pulse generation is solved, eliminating the pre- and post- pulses .en
