heal.abstractData-intensive ecosystems are collections of databases along with software applications that are built on top of them. The main characteristic of such systems is their strong dependence on the underlying layer of data. The database layer not only facilitates the surrounding applications of the information system (scripts, web forms, stored procedures, spreadsheets, or any other client application) but also, deeply affects their architecture and maintenance. The research question that this Thesis addresses is the provision of a visual map of the ecosystem that can be exploited by all the involved stakeholders in order to show the correlation of the developed code to the underlying database and support operations like program comprehension, impact analysis (for potential changes at the database layer), documentation etc. To provide this visual map, we represent the internal structure of ecosystems as a graph, we cluster its nodes and we visualize the clustered graph with three circular layout methods.en
