heal.abstract | According to Greek and Latin sources (mainly Apollodorus of Artemita) Demetrios I, son of the king of Bactria Euthydemos, was, after Alexander the Great, the second Greek conqueror of India, from Indokush and Pentapotamia to Bombay. Menandros, the second great king of Bactria and India, led the Greek army beyond Ypanis (Yphasis), in Gangem and Palivothra. Demetrios I (and not Demetrios II) was also the person, who, from India, undertook a campaign against the new conqueror of Bactria, Eucratides. | en |
