| heal.abstract | 1994, marks the commemoration of the 30th anniversary (1964) of the death of the distinguished professor of Folklore at the University of Thessaloniki, Stilpon Kyriakidis. He was bom in Komotini, Thrace, in 1887. This anniversary in conjunction with the first Symposium of Anthropology organized by the city of Komotini and the Department of History and Ethnology at the Demokrition University of Thrace, and dedicated to the memory of prof. Kyriakidis (and to his daughter Alki Kyriakidis - Nestoros, professor of Folklore at the University of Thessaloniki) brings forward, at the proper time, Kyriakidis’ contribution to the Greek Culture in general. The present paper, which for objective reasons could not have been exhaustive, limits itself only to the pointing out of Kyriakidis' contribution and to the analysis of his written works on Folklore, History and Archaeology of Thrace. | en |
