| heal.abstract | In the ancient arcadian land there was a town called Corone, which is mentioned in the sources, especially in some inscriptions.In this article we propose that the town was situated in the NE edge of Arkadia and we identify it with the medieval Corone (Σαρσοκορώνη = Ταρσός + Κορώνη), mentioned as an episcopical see at the beginning of the ninth century. The existence of this town of the ancient Arcadia during the dark period of the seventh and eighth century A. D. appears to be certain. | en |
