heal.abstractIN THE PRESENT STUDY, WE INVESTIGATED THE ACUTE AND CHRONIC ADAPTING MECHANISMS TO VARIOUS TYPES OF KINETIC ACTIVITIES, EXERCISE AND ATHLETIC EXERCISES,MEDIATED BY CHANGES OF HCT, HB AND ERYTHROCYTE 2,3-DPG CONCENTRATIONS, AS WELL AS, THE LEVEL OF SERUM LIPIDS AND LIPOPROTEINS. 77 HEALTHY MALE VOLUNTEERS (AGED 31,5+/-8,0 YEARS) WERE CLASSIFIED INTO GROUPS ACCORDING TO THE RATE, INTENSITY AND VOLUME OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, EXERCISE AND TRAINING AND THEESTIMATED LEVEL OF THEIR AEROBIC CAPACITY, DETERMINED BY THEIR VO2MAX. FURTHERMORE, ACCORDING TO PARAMETERS STUDIED, CHRONIC ADAPTATIONS TO THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF KINETIC ACTIVITY SEEM TO BE MEDIATED BY A BENEFICIAL REDUCTIONOF THE BODY WEIGHT, AN INCREASE OF VO2MAX, A REDUCTION OF TC ALONG WITH AN INCREASE OF HDL WHICH CHANGE PROPORTIONALLY RELATED TO THE INTENSITY AND THERATE (VOLUME) OF EXERCISE, WHEN A CERTAIN THRESHOLD IS SURPASSED. ACUTE ADAPTATION TO SUBMAXIMAL AEROBIC EXERCISE IS PROBABLY MEDIATED IN PERSONS WITH LOW PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND RATE OF EXERCISE BY A POST-EXERCISE INCREASE IN ERYTHROCYTE 2,3-DPG LEVELS. THE LATTER COULD INDICATE THAT SUBMAXIMAL AEROBIC EXERCISE IN PERSONS CHARACTERIZED BY THOSE TYPES OF KINETIC ACTIVITY, SUCHAS UNTRAINED ISCHEMIC PATIENTS, MAY HELP, BY A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE OF ERYTHROCYTE 2,3-DPG LEVEL, THE DISSOCIATION OF O2 FROM HB AND ITS DELIVERY TO THEISCHEMIC HEART TISSUES.el
