heal.abstractΣτην παρούσα εργασία, επιχειρούμε να μεταφέρουμε με οπτικά χωρικά και αφηγηματικά μέσα την δική μας ανάγνωση του αγίου όρους, που λόγω του αβάτου καθίσταται για εμάς απρόσιτο και απαγορευμένο. Η προσέγγισή μας αποτελείται από μια χαρτογραφική απόπειρα αναδιήγησης αυτής της τοπολογικής ανάγνωσης: Μία και μαζί πολλαπλές ερμηνευτικές εκδοχές της χερσονήσου του Άθου, η οποία διαμορφώνεται από τις παρατηρήσεις και τα ερωτήματα που είχαμε και θέτουμε εμείς οι ίδιες, που, σε συνδυασμό όμως με τις διαμεσολαβημένες πληροφορίες που έχουμε για το συγκεκριμένο μέρος, καθιστούν αυτή την αφήγηση υποκειμενική αλλά και κατά έναν τρόπο διυποκειμενική. Η διπλωματική χωρίζεται σε επιμέρους τμήματα, που αφορούν την επίσκεψή μας στη γύρω περιοχή, την κατανόηση του θεσμού του αβάτου και των χωρικών προεκτάσεων που λαμβάνει, σκέψεις γύρω από τη συνθήκη της διαμεσολάβησης, την επιλογή και την νοηματοδότηση αρχιτεκτονικών και συμβολικών στοιχείων και τέλος, μερικές από τις δοκιμές και τους πειραματισμούς μας.el
heal.abstractIn this paper, we attempt to convey, through visual, spatial, and narrative means, our own interpretation of Mount Athos, which, due to the institution of avaton, remains unapproachable and prohibited to us. Our approach consists of a cartographic attempt to retell this topological interpretation: a single yet multiple interpretative versions of the Athos Peninsula, which is shaped by the observations and questions we had; yet, when combined with the mediated information we have about this place, they make this narrative both subjective and, in a way, intersubjective. The thesis is divided into separate sections, which address our visit to the surrounding area, our understanding of the institution of avaton and its spatial aspect, reflections on the condition of mediation, the selection and interpretation of architectural and symbolic elements, and finally, some of our tests and experiments.en
