| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία διερευνά τη σύγχρονη αναβίωση του ρεμπέτικου τραγουδιού μέσα από τις εμπειρίες και τις αφηγήσεις γυναικών μουσικών που δραστηριοποιούνται στον χώρο του ρεμπέτικου και του αστικού λαϊκού τραγουδιού. Παράλληλα, εξετάζει τον τρόπο με τον οποίο οι ίδιες αντιλαμβάνονται τη θέση της γυναίκας στο σύγχρονο μουσικό πεδίο, καθώς και τις στρατηγικές που υιοθετούν για την προσέγγιση και την ερμηνεία ενός ρεπερτορίου που συχνά περιλαμβάνει έμφυλες στερεοτυπικές αναπαραστάσεις, σεξιστικό λόγο ή αναφορές στη βία κατά των γυναικών. Το θεωρητικό μέρος της εργασίας παρουσιάζει την ιστορική εξέλιξη του ρεμπέτικου, τις διαφορετικές φάσεις της αναβίωσής του και τις κυριότερες επιστημονικές προσεγγίσεις σχετικά με την πολιτισμική του σημασία. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στην ιστορική παρουσία των γυναικών στο ρεμπέτικο, καθώς και στις έμφυλες αναπαραστάσεις που αναδεικνύονται μέσα από τη θεματολογία των τραγουδιών. Η μελέτη προσεγγίζει το ρεμπέτικο ως μια δυναμική πολιτισμική πρακτική, η οποία διαμορφώνεται και αποκτά εκ νέου νόημα μέσα από τις κοινωνικές και ιστορικές εξελίξεις. Η έρευνα ακολουθεί ποιοτική μεθοδολογική προσέγγιση και βασίζεται σε ημιδομημένες συνεντεύξεις με γυναίκες μουσικούς που διαθέτουν ενεργή παρουσία στη σύγχρονη ρεμπέτικη σκηνή. Τα δεδομένα αναλύθηκαν με τη μέθοδο της θεματικής ανάλυσης, επιτρέποντας την ανάδειξη των κυρίαρχων θεματικών αξόνων που διαμορφώνουν τις εμπειρίες και τις αντιλήψεις των συμμετεχουσών. Τα ευρήματα καταδεικνύουν ότι το ρεμπέτικο δεν βιώνεται ως ένα στατικό ή μουσειακό μουσικό είδος, αλλά ως μια ζωντανή πολιτισμική παράδοση που διαμορφώνεται μέσα από τη σύγχρονη μουσική πράξη. Παράλληλα, αναδεικνύονται οι δυσκολίες που εξακολουθούν να αντιμετωπίζουν οι γυναίκες στον χώρο, όπως η ανάγκη συνεχούς απόδειξης της επαγγελματικής τους αξίας και η παρουσία έμφυλων στερεοτύπων. Ωστόσο, οι συμμετέχουσες δεν αντιμετωπίζουν παθητικά το παραδοσιακό ρεπερτόριο, αλλά προχωρούν σε κριτική διαπραγμάτευση και επανανοηματοδότησή του, προσαρμόζοντάς το στις σύγχρονες κοινωνικές και πολιτισμικές συνθήκες. Συνολικά, η μελέτη αναδεικνύει ότι η αναβίωση του ρεμπέτικου αποτελεί μια δυναμική διαδικασία πολιτισμικής συνέχειας και μετασχηματισμού, μέσα στην οποία οι γυναίκες μουσικοί διαδραματίζουν ενεργό και ουσιαστικό ρόλο. | el |
| heal.abstract | This thesis explores the contemporary revival of rebetiko song through the experiences and narratives of female musicians active in the field of rebetiko and urban folk song. At the same time, it examines the way in which they themselves perceive the position of women in the contemporary musical field, as well as the strategies they adopt for approaching and interpreting a repertoire that often includes gender-stereotypical representations, sexist discourse or references to violence against women. The theoretical part of this dissertation presents the historical development of rebetiko, the different phases of its revival and the main scientific approaches regarding its cultural significance. Particular emphasis is given to the historical presence of women in rebetiko, as well as to the gender representations that emerge through the themes of the songs. The study approaches rebetiko as a dynamic cultural practice, which is shaped and acquires new meaning through social and historical developments. The research follows a qualitative methodological approach and is based on semi-structured interviews with female musicians who are active in the contemporary rebetiko scene. The data were analyzed using the thematic analysis method, allowing the emergence of the dominant thematic axes that shape the experiences and perceptions of the participants. The findings demonstrate that rebetiko is not experienced as a static or museum-like musical genre, but as a living cultural tradition that is shaped through contemporary musical practice. At the same time, the difficulties that women in the field continue to face are highlighted, such as the need to constantly prove their professional value and the presence of gender stereotypes. However, the participants do not passively approach the traditional repertoire, but proceed to critically negotiate and reinterpret it, adapting it to contemporary social and cultural conditions. Overall, the study highlights that the revival of rebetiko constitutes a dynamic process of cultural continuity and transformation, in which female musicians play an active and essential role. | en |
