| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία αποτελεί μια ανθρωπολογική-λαογραφική μελέτη της πλατείας Καλούτσιανης στα Ιωάννινα που εξετάζει την κοινωνική συγκρότηση και τους μετασχηματισμούς του χώρου από το 1913 έως σήμερα. Η έρευνα βασίζεται στην υπόθεση ότι η συγκεκριμένη πλατεία συνιστά έναν αστικό μετασχηματισμό της πλατείας του «Ηπειρωτικού χωριού», όπου το τζαμί, ο πλάτανος και η βρύση αποτελούν διαχρονικά τα κεντρικά τοπόσημα οργάνωσης της τοπικής κοινότητας και αγοράς. Μέσα από τρεις διαδοχικές φάσεις (ημιαγροτική, αστικοποίηση, σύγχρονη εποχή), αναλύεται πώς ο χώρος οικειοποιείται και μεταβάλλεται λειτουργικά, διατηρώντας ωστόσο τον χαρακτήρα μιας ζωντανής «πιάτσας». Η μελέτη αναδεικνύει τις πολλαπλές σχέσεις παραγωγής που συγκροτούν την πλατεία σήμερα: από την παραδοσιακή «οικονομία της γειτονιάς» και τα άτυπα δίκτυα εργασίας μεταναστών, έως τη σύγχρονη ανάδυση του τουριστικού εμπορεύματος μέσω της πλατφόρμας Airbnb. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στην τρέχουσα αναστήλωση του τζαμιού, η οποία προοικονομεί μια νέα μετάβαση. Η εργασία καταλήγει στο συμπέρασμα ότι η Καλούτσιανη ισορροπεί ανάμεσα στη διαφύλαξη της λαϊκής της ταυτότητας και τον κίνδυνο μιας αποστειρωμένης «μουσειοποίησης». Το τζαμί, ωστόσο, παραμένει ο σταθερός άξονας γύρω από τον οποίο η κοινότητα αναδιαπραγματεύεται την ταυτότητά της απέναντι στις προκλήσεις του σύγχρονου τουριστικού εξευγενισμού. | el |
| heal.abstract | This thesis constitutes an anthropological and folkloric study of Kaloutsiani Square in Ioannina, examining the social construction and spatial transformations of the area from 1913 to the present. The research is based on the hypothesis that this Square represents an urban transformation of the traditional Epirotic village square, where the Ottoman mosque, the plane tree, and the fountain serve as enduring landmarks for the organization of the local community and market. Through three successive phases—semi-rural, intense urbanization, and the modern era—the study analyzes how the space is appropriated and functionally altered, while maintaining its character as a vibrant "piazza". The research highlights the multiple relations of production that constitute the square today: from the traditional "neighborhood economy" and informal labor networks of migrants to the contemporary emergence of the spatial commodity via Airbnb platforms. Particular emphasis is placed on the ongoing restoration of the mosque, which foreshadows a new transition. The thesis concludes that Kaloutsiani currently balances between preserving its grassroots, "folk" identity and the risk of a sterile "museumification." The mosque though remains the steadfast axis around which the community continuously renegotiates its identity against the challenges of modern tourist gentrification. | en |
