heal.abstractΣτα πλαίσια αυτής της διπλωματικής εργασίας έγινε μια μελέτη που αφορά την «ΕΡΓΑΣΤΗΡΙΑΚΗ ΔΙΑΓΝΩΣΗ, ΕΠΙΤΗΡΗΣΗ ΚΑΙ ΜΕΤΡΑ ΕΛΕΓΧΟΥ ΤΗΣ ΛΕΠΤΟΣΠΕΙΡΩΣΗΣ». Πρόκειται για μια ιδιαίτερα μολυσματική ζωοανθρωπονόσο με συμπτώματα που ποικίλουν από πολύ ήπια έως πολύ σοβαρά. Η παρούσα εργασία χωρίζεται σε δύο βασικά μέρη. Στο πρώτο μέρος εξετάζεται το βακτήριο Leptospira, με αναφορά στην ιστορία του, την ταξινόμηση, τη μορφολογία και τη δομή του. Επιπλέον, αναλύονται η οικολογία του παθογόνου, οι μηχανισμοί παθογένειας, καθώς και τα ζωικά μοντέλα που χρησιμοποιούνται για τη μελέτη της νόσου. Τέλος, παρουσιάζονται οι θεραπευτικές προσεγγίσεις που εφαρμόζονται κατά της λεπτοσπείρωσης. Το δεύτερο μέρος εστιάζεται στις εργαστηριακές διαγνωστικές μεθόδους που χρησιμοποιούνται για την ταυτοποίηση της νόσου και την αναζήτηση των κυκλοφορούντων ορότυπων, στην επιτήρηση της νόσου, την επίπτωση στη δημόσια υγεία και στα προτεινόμενα μέτρα πρόληψης και προστασίας. Σκοπός της εργασίας είναι η ενίσχυση της γνώσης γύρω από τη λεπτοσπείρωση — μια ιδιαίτερα μολυσματική νόσο που επηρεάζει τόσο τον άνθρωπο όσο και τα ζώα — με στόχο την ευαισθητοποίηση, την ορθή πρόληψη και τον αποτελεσματικό έλεγχό της.el
heal.abstractThis thesis is focusing on Leptospirosis and more particularly on its diagnostic methods, the surveillance and safety measures. Leptospirosis is a very important zoonotic disease that gets transmitted by infected water or urine from infected animals. Its symptoms have a variety from light to extremely dangerous, since it can lead to death depending on the seriousness of the infection. The first part of the assignment is analyzing the bacteria (Leptospira) mostly, that in this case they are spirochetes. There are chapters dedicated on Leptospirosis history and ecology, on its structure and pathogenesis, and on its treatment along with others. The second part, which is the main part of this thesis, focuses on the laboratory diagnostic methods used for the identification of the disease and the detection of circulating serotypes, as well as on disease surveillance, its impact on public health, and the recommended prevention and protection measures. This thesis was written in order to inform people more about this disease, that even though it’s really serious it doesn’t get recorded as much as it should have been because of its expensive diagnostic methods. Last but not least, leptospirosis has been a serious issue the last decades due to the floods and excessive rain making it one of the most dangerous zoonotic diseases.en
