| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα πτυχιακή πραγματεύεται τη σχέση των επιτελικών λειτουργιών με τη γλωσσική ανάπτυξη των παιδιών προσχολικής ηλικίας τυπικής ανάπτυξης. Τόσο η γλωσσική ανάπτυξη όσο και οι εκτελεστικές λειτουργίες, είναι αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι της εξέλιξης των παιδιών. Για το λόγο αυτό, γίνεται αναφορά στις δεξιότητες που κατακτούν τα παιδιά καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της προσχολικής ηλικίας, στους τομείς της πραγματολογίας, σημασιολογίας, μορφοσύνταξης, φωνητικής-φωνολογίας. Επίσης γίνεται αναφορά στις βασικές γνωστικές διεργασίες, όπως είναι η αναστολή, η εργαζόμενη μνήμη και η γνωστική ευελιξία καθώς και στον τρόπο με τον οποίο αναπτύσσονται σταδιακά. Στη συνέχεια, μέσω βιβλιογραφικής ανασκόπησης, παρουσιάζονται τα ερευνητικά ευρήματα που καταδεικνύουν τη συσχέτιση μεταξύ γλώσσας και επιτελικών λειτουργιών. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, τα αποτελέσματά τους έδειξαν την αμφίδρομη σχέση τους, καθώς και ότι καθεμία διεργασία του γνωστικού ελέγχου σχετίζεται και αλληλεπιδρά με τη γλώσσα. Ιδιαίτερη βαρύτητα δίνεται στην εργαζόμενη μνήμη με την κατανόηση και την κατάκτηση των γλωσσικών στοιχείων, στην αναστολή με την επιλογή και παραγωγή των κατάλληλων λεξιλογικών δομών και στη γνωστική ευελιξία με την προσαρμογή και παραγωγή της κατάλληλης αντίδρασης με βάση τις απαιτήσεις της εκάστοτε επικοινωνιακής δραστηριότητας. | heal.abstract | This thesis explores the relationship between executive functions and language development in preschool children with typical development. Both language acquisition and executive functions are an integral part of child development. For this reason, this study examines the linguistic abilities acquired throughout the preschool years in the domains of pragmatics, semantics, morphosyntax, and phonetics-phonology. Additionally, it discusses key cognitive processes, such as inhibition, working memory and cognitive flexibility, as well as the way in which they gradually evolve. Following a literature review, this paper presents research findings that demonstrate the correlation between language and executive functions. More specifically, the results indicate a bidirectional relationship, demonstrating that each cognitive control process is linked to and interacts with language. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of working memory in language comprehension and acquisition, of inhibition in the selection and production of appropriate lexical structures, and of cognitive flexibility in adapting and generating appropriate responses based on the demands of a given communicative activity.
