| heal.abstract | The present article offers a short overview of the results of the systematic excavation on the uninhabited islands of Despotiko and Tsimintiri running since 2001 under the direction of Y. Kourayos and the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades. 22 buildings have come to light so far and quantities of different types of findings revealing the long history of the site, going back to the Early Iron Age. The available data point to the existence of an establishment, which flourished particularly during the second half of the sixth century BC. The rich temenos of Apollo was surrounded by a number of buildings of various functions, which extended over the islet of Tsimintiri too. It is argued that the discovered architectural remains represent the early Antiparos, whose ancient name must have been Ισθμός. | el |
