| heal.abstract | Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η εισαγωγή του αναγνώστη σε βασικά θέματα όπως τον ορισμό της πράσινης δικτύωσης, τα είδη των δικτύων, το μέσο μετάδοσης, την υποδομή του δικτύου ή του μέσου καθώς και τις τεχνικές που χρησιμοποιούν. Πως οι διάφορες εταιρείες κολοσσοί έχουν ευαισθητοποιηθεί με την μόλυνση του περιβάλλοντος και την αύξηση της εκπομπής αερίων του θερμοκηπίου(Green-House-Gas,-GHG) και τη «στροφή» αυτών σε βιώσιμες πηγές για την εξοικονόμηση της ενέργειας. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο τα δίκτυα και γενικότερα ο τομές των ΤΠΕ αρχίζουν να αναπτύσσουν νέες μεθόδους που έχουν ως στόχο την μείωση της κατανάλωσης ενέργειας, χωρίς βέβαια να αλλοιώνεται η ποιότητα των μεταδιδόμενων πληροφοριών, και των υπηρεσιών τους. Γίνεται ανάλυση των στρατηγικών πράσινης δικτύωσης. Τέλος γίνεται προσομοίωση μέσω του Green Cloud. Το Green Cloud είναι ένας εξελιγμένος προσομοιωτής επιπέδου πακέτων δεδομένων με έμφαση στις επικοινωνίες Cloud και τα κέντρα δεδομένων. Προσφέρει λεπτομερής και αναλυτική μοντελοποίηση της ενέργειας που καταναλώνεται από τον εξοπλισμό πληροφορικής των κέντρων δεδομένων, που αναπτύσσονται σε μια αρχιτεκτονική τριών επιπέδων. Επίσης μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί για την ανάπτυξη καινοτόμων λύσεων, την παρακολούθηση και κατανομή πόρων, τον προγραμματισμό φόρτου εργασίας καθώς και τη βελτιστοποίηση πρωτοκόλλων επικοινωνίας και των δικτυακών υποδομών. | heal.abstract | The purpose of this paper is to introduce the reader to basic topics such as the definition of green networking, the types of networks, the transmission medium, the infrastructure of the network or medium as well as the techniques they use. How the various giant companies have become aware of the pollution of the environment and the increase in the emission of greenhouse gases (Green-House-Gas ,-GHG), and the "turning" of these to sustainable sources to save energy. In this way, the networks and the ICT sector in general are starting to develop new methods that aim to reduce energy consumption, without of course altering the quality of the transmitted information and their services. Green networking strategies are analyzed. Finally, simulation is done through Green Cloud. Green Cloud is a sophisticated packet data simulator with a focus on cloud communications and data centers. It offers detailed and analytical modeling of the energy consumed by data center IT equipment, deployed in a three-tier architecture. It can also be used to develop innovative solutions, monitor and allocate resources, schedule workloads, and optimize communication protocols and network infrastructures.
