| heal.abstract | Ο κώδικας της Βρετανικής βιβλιοθήκης με αριθμό καταλογογράφησης 40731, γνωστός και ως ψαλτήριο Bristol, είναι ο μοναδικός με μικρογραφίες στην ώα που φιλοτεχνήθηκε στο γύρισμα του 10ου προς τον 11ο αι. και μας έχει διασωθεί. Το ψαλτήριο Bristol αποτελείται από 265 περγαμηνά φύλλα, κάποια από τα οποία είναι διακοσμημένα με μικρογραφίες, με τις τελευταίες να ανέρχονται στις 90. Από την άλλη πλευρά, ο κώδικας Par. gr. 139, γνωστός και ως Παρισινό ψαλτήριο (περί τα μέσα του 10ου αι.), αποδίδεται στον στενό κύκλο των καλλιτεχνών που δραστηριοποιούνταν στην αυλή του αυτοκράτορα Κωνσταντίνου Ζ΄ Πορφυρογεννήτου και κοσμείται με 14 ολοσέλιδες μικρογραφίες. Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία μελετάται λεπτομερώς ο τρόπος με τον οποίο διακοσμήθηκε ένα τμήμα του ψαλτηρίου Bristol, με απεικονίσεις που δεν διασώζονται σε κανένα άλλο ψαλτήριο με μικρογραφίες στην ώα. Σε αυτό ανιχνεύονται επιρροές από μία άλλη ομάδα ψαλτηρίων, τα αριστοκρατικά, και πιθανότατα από το πρωιμότερο σωζόμενο του είδους, το Παρισινό. Το συγκεκριμένο τμήμα του ψαλτηρίου Bristol αποτελείται από δέκα μικρογραφίες, οι οποίες αναλύονται ενδελεχώς στην παρούσα εργασία. Αρχικά, μελετώνται αυτές του Δαυίδ με συνοδεία Μουσικών (fol. 7v) και του Χριστού Διδάσκοντα (fol. 125v) κυρίως λόγω της ολοσέλιδης μορφής τους. Στη συνέχεια εξετάζονται τέσσερις μικρογραφίες που καταλαμβάνουν την ώα του χειρογράφου. Πρόκειται για τα εικονογραφικά θέματα του Μακαρίου ανδρός (πρώτος ψαλμός, fol. 8r), της Ανύψωσης του Δαυίδ σε ασπίδα και της Στέψης του σε αυτή (20ος ψαλμός, fol. 33r), της Μετάνοιάς του (50ος ψαλμός, fol. 82v), καθώς και εκείνο της Μάχης του με τον Γολιάθ (143ος ψαλμός, fol. 231v). Μάλιστα, οι τέσσερις αυτές μικρογραφίες χαρακτηρίζονται από την παρουσία προσωποποιήσεων, κάποιες από τις οποίες είναι σπάνιες ή και μοναδικές για τον διάκοσμο των ψαλτηρίων και ειδικά εκείνων με μικρογραφίες στην ώα. Τέλος, αναλύονται τέσσερις εικονογραφημένες ωδές και συγκεκριμένα εκείνες του Ησαΐα (fol. 252r), του Ιωνά (fol. 253v), της Άννας (fol. 248v) και του Εζεκία (fol. 260r). | el |
| heal.abstract | The codex of the British Library Add. 40731, also known as the Bristol Psalter, is the only marginal Psalter, which produced circa 1000 and has survived. The Bristol Psalter consists of 265 parchment leaves, some of which are decorated with miniatures. The latter amount to 90. On the other hand, the codex Par. gr. 139, also known as the Paris Psalter (mid-10th century), is attributed to the close circle of artists who became active at the court of Emperor Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus. Paris Psalter is decorated with 14 full-page miniatures. This study thoroughly examines the way in which a section of the Bristol Psalter was decorated, with depictions that do not survive in any other marginal Psalter. In this specific section, influences from another group of Psalters are observed, the aristocratic Psalters, and probably from the earliest surviving of its kind, the Paris Psalter. The same section of the Bristol Psalter consists of ten miniatures, which are thoroughly examined in this study. First and foremost, emphasis is laid on the miniatures of David with the Musicians (fol. 7v) and Christ Teaching the Crowd (fol. 125v), which are distinguished from the rest due to their full-page form. Subsequently, special focus is given to four miniatures in the margin, depicting the iconographic subjects of the Blessed Man (first Psalm, fol. 8r), David's Coronation and his raising on a shield (20th Psalm, fol. 33r), his Repentance (50th Psalm, fol. 82v), as well as that of his Battle with Goliath (143th Psalm, fol. 231v). These four miniatures are characterized by the presence of personifications, some of which are rare or even unique at the decoration of psalters and especially the marginal ones. Finally, particular attention has been paid to the decoration of the four illustrated Odes and more precisely those of Isaiah (fol. 252r), Jonah’s (fol. 253v), Anna’s (fol. 248v) and Hezekiah’s (fol. 260r). | en |
