heal.abstract	Η συγκεκριμένη εργασία πραγματεύεται το ζήτημα του βρεφικού θανάτου στην αρχαιότητα και επικεντρώνεται στις περιπτώσεις απόθεσής τους στο εσωτερικό φρεάτων, πρακτική ιδιαίτερα διαδεδομένη κατά την Ελληνιστική εποχή. Τα βρέφη αποτελούν ιδιαίτερη ομάδα νεκρών, συχνά εξαιρούμενη από τα συνήθη ταφικά τελετουργικά και πρακτικές. Στη διαχείριση του θανάτου τους εντοπίζονται σημαντικές ιδιαιτερότητες, οι οποίες ενδεχομένως συνδέονται την πρόθεση των οικείων για μια υποτυπώδη τελετουργική ταφή και την έκφραση των συναισθημάτων που προκύπτουν από τον πρόωρο θάνατο. Σημαντικό μεθοδολογικό αρωγό αποτελούν οι αναφορές των αρχαίων πηγών. Σκοπός της εργασίας είναι η δημιουργία μιας ευρύτερης εικόνας για τη θέση των βρεφών στο κοινωνικό σύνολο, μέσα από τη διαχείριση του θανάτου τους, αλλά και η ερμηνεία των συγκεκριμένων αποθέσεων στα πηγάδια, μέσα από τη συσχέτιση των νεκρών με τα αντικείμενα και τους σκύλους που εντοπίστηκαν στο εσωτερικό τους.	el
heal.abstract	This paper focuses on the infant death in Antiquity and specifically, on their deposits inside wells, a practice that was particularly widespread during the Hellenistic period. Infants are a special group among the dead, often excluded from the usual burial rituals and practices. The management of their death contains important peculiarities, maybe linked to the intetion of the relatives for a rudimentary ritual burial and the expression of emotions, following the premature death. An important methodological assist is provided by the ancient sources. The main purpose of this thesis is the description of the infants' place in society, throughout the management of their death and the interpretation of the specific well deposits, throughout the association of the dead with the objects and dogs found inside them.	en
