heal.abstractΤο υπό διερεύνηση θέμα της ενασχόλησης των μαθητών πρωτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης με το σκάκι και αν επιδρά η κοινωνική προέλευση των γονέων στην ενασχόληση των παιδιών με αυτό μελετήθηκε με την ποσοτική και ποιοτική μεθοδολογική προσέγγιση μέσω ερωτηματολογίου σε ένα δείγμα 100 μαθητών πρωτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης, με στόχο να αναδειχτεί τυχόν σύνδεση της θεωρίας του Pierre Bourdieu περί πολιτισμικού κεφαλαίου με την ενασχόληση των παιδιών του δείγματος με το σκάκι, κατά πόσο δηλαδή συνδέεται αυτή τους η επιλογή με το πολιτισμικό κεφάλαιο των γονέων, για να αναδειχτεί αν επιβεβαιώνεται ή όχι η θεωρία του Bourdieu. Από τα ευρήματα της παρούσας έρευνας διαπιστώθηκε ότι ο ρόλος που διαδραμάτισε το πολιτισμικό κεφάλαιο των γονέων στο να επιλέξουν τα παιδιά τους να ασχοληθούν με το σκάκι ήταν καθοριστικός. Μαθητές που οι οικογένειές τους ανήκουν στα ανώτερα και ανώτατα μορφωτικά και οικονομικά στρώματα, άρα κατέχουν με υψηλό πολιτισμικό κεφάλαιο, επιλέγουν να ασχοληθούν τα παιδιά τους με το σκάκι ως εξωσχολική δραστηριότητα.el
heal.abstractThe issue Primary school students' involvement in chess in their free time and the effect of parents' social capital was studied with the quantitative and qualitative methodological approach through a questionnaire in a sample of 100 primary school students, with the aim of showing any connection of Pierre Bourdieu's theory about cultural capital with the involvement of the children of the sample in chess, i.e. to what extent their choice is linked to the cultural capital of the parents, whether or not Bourdieu's theory is confirmed. From the findings of the present research, it was established that the role of the parents' cultural capital is crucial in the choice of the children to play chess. Students whose families belong to the higher and highest educational and financial stratus, thus possessing a high cultural capital, choose chess as an extracurricular activity.en
