| heal.abstract | Στόχος της διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι ο σχεδιασμός ενός δημόσιου χώρου που θα διαμορφώσει χωρικές συνθήκες ευνοϊκές προς το skateboarding στο αστικό περιβάλλον. Επιλέγεται μια περιοχή παρέμβασης στα Ιωάννινα, και συγκεκριμένα το κτήριο των παλιών ΚΤΕΛ επί της οδού Ζωσιμάδων. H παρέμβαση δεν περιορίζεται μόνο σε χωρικές εγκαταστάσεις με σκοπό την άσκηση της δραστηριότητας, αλλά αποσκοπεί και στην ένταξη δραστηριοτήτων πολιτισμικού ενδιαφέροντος. Η ανάγκη και επιθυμία για την δημιουργία skate-friendly αστικών χώρων προέρχεται τόσο από την ενασχόληση την ίδια, όσο και από το παράδειγμα των υφιστάμενων πρότυπων πόλεων όπου το skate αναγνωρίζεται ως μια υγιεινή πρακτική για τους κατοίκους της. Επιπλέον, στο skateboarding αναδεικνύεται η σχέση λειτουργίας και προγράμματος, καθώς οι skaters είναι ίσως οι πιο λειτουργικά και άμεσα εμπλεκόμενοι χρήστες με την λειτουργία και την μορφή του αστικού τοπίου. Διασπώντας την πόλη σε σχήματα και καμπύλες αλλά και τα αστικά ‘spots’ που αποτελούν ένα είδος ‘skateable επίπλου’ με πολλαπλούς τρόπους χρήσης, συντίθεται μια νέα διάσταση στο δημόσιο χώρο. Παρουσιάζει λοιπόν ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον αυτός ο βιωματικός συσχετισμός με την πόλη μέσω της δραστηριότητας. Με αφορμή την δυναμική αυτής της σχέσης σε συνδυασμό με τις ανάγκες των κατοίκων της πόλης, ο παλιός σταθμός ΚΤΕΛ επαναπροσδιορίζεται ως πολιτιστικός χώρος και skatepark. Όσον αφορά τη διαχείριση του κτηρίου, αυτό διατηρείται εν μέρη ιδιαίτερα όσον αφορά τον φέροντα οργανισμό του, ενώ μια βασική προσθήκη αποτελεί το νέο μεταλλικό στέγαστρο, το οποίο ‘καλύπτει’ την υφιστάμενη έκταση του κτηρίου. Σχετικά με τον σχεδιασμό του skatepark το οποίο είναι πάντα προσβάσιμο, αυτό χωρίζεται σε τρία μέρη: το street skatepark (ημιυπαίθριο), το flow skatepark αλλά και ένα skate plaza (υπαίθρια). Επιπλέον το κτιριολογικό πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει αναψυκτήριο, αναγνωστήριο-βιβλιοθήκη, χώρους δημιουργικής απασχόλησης, playroom, χώρο εκθέσεων και εκδηλώσεων. | el |
| heal.abstract | Purpose of the thesis project is to design a public space where there will be sufficient spatial conditions towards skateboarding in an urban environment. The chosen intervention area is within the city of Ioannina, more specifically the old bus station at Zosimadon street. The intervention doesn’t only consist of the spatial construction of a place to perform the sport, but it also includes activities of cultural interest. The need and desire to create skate-friendly urban spaces derives not only from the activity itself, but also from the examples of the existing cities, where skate is recognized as a healthy practice for its citizens. Also, from skateboarding emerges the relationship between function and program, as the skaters are considered to be the most operational users of the form and function of the urban environment. By breaking up the city in shapes and curves and also by using the urban ‘spots’ or ‘skateable furniture’ of multiple ways of use, there is being formed a new dimension to public space. On the occasion of the dynamics of this relationship, and by combining the needs of the citizens, the old station KTEL is redefined as cultural space and skatepark. As for the management οf the existing building, it is partially conserved, especially in means of the basic components of the structure, whereas a main addition is the new steel roof that covers the existing area of the building. Concerning the design of the skatepark which is always accessible, it is separated into three parts: the street skatepark (under roof), the flow skatepark and a skateplaza (outdoor).
