| heal.abstract | Στα τελευταία χρόνια έχει δοθεί ιδιαίτερο βάρος από τους μελετητές στη μελέτη της πρόσληψης των αρχαίων ποιητών (Ελλήνων και Ρωμαίων) στα κατοπινά χρόνια. Στον ευρύ χώρο της πρόσληψης σπουδαίο τμήμα καταλαμβάνει η μετάφραση. Κατά την τελευταία δεκαετία οι κριτικοί έχουν ασχοληθεί με το θέμα της μετάφρασης Ρωμαίων ποιητών στις σύγχρονες γλώσσες, μελετώντας τη μεταφραστική θεωρία και πράξη και προσπαθώντας να ερμηνεύσουν αιτίες της δημιουργίας τους αλλά και το αναγνωστικό κοινό στο οποίο απευθύνονταν.Στην παρούσα Μεταπτυχιακή Διπλωματική Εργασία μελετώνται οι ελληνικές μεταφράσεις ποιημάτων του Ορατίου που εκπονήθηκαν κατά τον 19ο αιώνα. Είναι ιδιαιτέρως σημαντικό να τονιστεί ότι είναι η μοναδική εργασία που ασχολείται με αυτό το θέμα, καθώς έχουν προηγηθεί σχετικές μελέτες για τις ελληνικές μεταφράσεις άλλων Ρωμαίων ποιητών (π.χ. του Οβιδίου από τον Μάξιμο Πλανούδη, τον Θωμά Τριβιζάνο, τον Νικόλαο Κάσδαγλη κ.ά., του Τίβουλλου από τον Ιάκωβο Πολυλά και τον Νικόλαο Κογεβίνα, του Κάτουλλου από τον Φίλιππο Ιωάννου και τον Γουσταύο Λαφφόν κ.ά.) αλλά και πεζογράφων (π.χ. του Κορνηλίου Νέπωτα από τον Σπυρίδωνα Βλαντή, του Τρόγου από τον Ιωάννη Μάκολα και τον Δανιήλ Φιλιππίδη κ.ά.). Η δομή της εργασίας είναι ως εξής: 1) Εισαγωγή, η οποία διαιρείται σε δύο (2) τμήματα: i) σύντομη επισκόπηση της μεταφραστικής ιστορίας του Ορατίου στην Ευρώπη έως τον 19ο αιώνα και ii) σύντομη επισκόπηση της ελληνικής μεταφραστικής πραγματικότητας την ίδια περίοδο. Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζονται συνοπτικά οι προβληματισμοί που εγείρονται κατά τη διαδικασία της μετάφρασης. Στα επόμενα κεφάλαια μελετώνται οι ελληνικές μεταφράσεις του Ορατίου που έλαβαν χώρα τον 19ο αιώνα• το κάθε κεφάλαιο ασχολείται με τις μεταφράσεις διαφόρων ποιημάτων από την κάθε συλλογή του Ρωμαίου ποιητή ξεχωριστά. Έτσι, στο τρίτο κεφάλαιο εξετάζονται οι μεταφράσεις του Carmen Saeculare, στο τέταρτο αυτές των Carmina, στο πέμπτο οι μεταφράσεις των Epistulae και στο έκτο αυτές των Epodi (πρέπει να σημειωθεί ότι μόνο το Carmen Saeculare έχει μεταφραστεί ολόκληρο, ενώ από τις προαναφερθείσες συλλογές έχουν αποδοθεί στην ελληνική κάποια ποιήματα). Στο έκτο κεφάλαιο παρατίθενται τα συμπεράσματα της εργασίας. Κύριοι στόχοι της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η παρουσίαση αυτών των μεταφράσεων, η εξέταση της μεταφραστικής θεωρίας και πράξης που τις διαπνέει, η ένταξή τους στα λογοτεχνικά, φιλολογικά και εκπαιδευτικά συμφραζόμενα εκείνης της εποχής, αλλά και η ανίχνευση των στόχων τους και του αναγνωστικού κοινού στο οποίο απευθύνονταν. | el |
| heal.abstract | In recent years, scholars have given particular attention to the study of the reception of ancient poets (Greek and Roman) in later years. In the broad area of reception an important part is occupied by translation. Over the last decade, critics have been concerned with the translation of Roman poets into modern languages, studying translation theory and practice and trying to interpret the reasons for their creation and the readership to which they were addressed. In this Master's Thesis we study the Greek translations of Horace's poems that were produced during the 19th century. It is particularly important to emphasize that this is the only thesis dealing with this topic, as there have been previous studies on the Greek translations of other Roman poets (e.g. of Ovid by Maximus Planudes, Thomas Trivizanos, Nikolaos Kasdaglis, etc.), Tibullus by Iakovos Polylas and Nikolaos Kogevinas, Catullus by Philippos Ioannou and Gustave Laffon, etc.) and prose writers (e.g. Cornelius Nepos by Spyridon Vladis, Trogos by Ioannis Makolas and Daniel Philippides, etc.). The structure of the essay is as follows: 1) Introduction, which is divided into two (2) sections: i) a brief overview of the translation history of Horace in Europe up to the 19th century and ii) a brief overview of the Greek translation reality in the same period. The second chapter is a brief presentation of some of concerns which were existed during the process of translation. The following chapters are associated with the Greek translations of Horace that took place in the 19th century. Each chapter deals with the translations of various poems from each collection of the Roman poet's work separately. Thus, in the third chapter are examined the translations of Carmen Saeculare, in the fourth those of the Carmina, in the fifth the translations of the Epistulae and in the sixth those of the Epodi (it should be noted that only Carmen Saeculare has been translated in its entirety, while only some poems from the aforementioned collections have been rendered into Greek). The seventh chapter presents the conclusions of the work. The main purpose of this essay is the presentation of these translations, the examination of the translation theory and practice that pervades them, their incorporation in the literacy, philologically and educational contexts of that period, as well as the detection of their aims and the readership to which they were addressed. | en |
