| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο Μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος του Τμήματος Πλαστικών Τεχνών και Επιστημών της Τέχνης του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων, για την εκπλήρωση των προϋποθέσεων απονομής Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης στην κατεύθυνση Εικαστικών Τεχνών. Σκοπός της μελέτης είναι η παρουσίαση και θεωρητική υποστήριξη του εικαστικού έργου που δημιούργησα για την Διπλωματική μου Εργασία και συγκεκριμένα της εγκατάστασης με τίτλο Family Remade. Η εγκατάσταση αυτή αποτελείται από 26 σχέδια, μικρών διαστάσεων με γραφίτη, εκ των οποίων τα 18 προέρχονται από την αναβίωση του οικογενειακού μου αρχείου. Πρόκειται για την επανασύνθεση του οικογενειακού φωτογραφικού αρχείου και για τη μετάφραση από το ένα αντικείμενο στο άλλο, από μια φωτογραφία σε ένα σχέδιο με γραφίτη. Είναι στιγμές στις οποίες εγώ η ίδια δεν παρίσταμαι, αλλά υπάρχει μια ισχυρή συναισθηματική σχέση με τη μνήμη που κληρονόμησα από τις αφηγήσεις ιστοριών και περιγραφές των φωτογραφιών από στενά μου πρόσωπα. Είναι φωτογραφίες που ο καθένας μας θα μπορούσε να έχει στο δικό του οικογενειακό άλμπουμ. Ανάμεσα από αυτά τα σχέδια-φωτογραφίες έχω προσθέσει 8 επιπλέον σχέδια εμπλουτίζοντας το οικογενειακό άλμπουμ με εικόνες που έχουν δημιουργηθεί από αφηγήσεις ιστοριών, φωτογραφίες από το internet, αντικείμενα- οικογενειακά κειμήλια, τοπία κτλ., δηλαδή σκηνοθετημένες, κατασκευασμένες εικόνες από το σήμερα. Τα σχέδια αυτά επίσης δανείζονται την οπτική γλώσσα της φωτογραφίας. Το θέμα της εγκατάστασης είναι η μνήμη. Τι θυμόμαστε? Πως το θυμόμαστε? Θυμόμαστε όλοι τα ίδια πράγματα? Ποιο συγκεκριμένα τι ρόλο παίζει το οικογενειακό άλμπουμ φωτογραφιών, το οποίο ουσιαστικά αποτελεί προσωπική και οικογενειακή «αποθήκη» της μνήμης. Έτσι στην μελέτη αυτή γίνεται αναφορά στην λειτουργία της μνήμης, ενώ επισημαίνεται η χρήση της φωτογραφίας ως φορέας μνήμης. Επιπλέον εξετάζεται η σχέση φαντασίας, μνήμης και φωτογραφίας καθώς και ερευνάται η λειτουργία του οικογενειακού άλμπουμ φωτογραφιών. Καταλήγουμε στο πόσο εύθραυστη, επιλεκτική αλλά και παραπλανητική μπορεί να είναι η μνήμη, πράγμα που ισχύει ακόμα και όταν υπάρχουν υποτιθέμενα ντοκουμέντα-φωτογραφίες. Η οικογενειακή φωτογραφία αποθανατίζει στιγμές και καθορίζει την ομάδα της οικογένειας, εξιδανικεύοντας όμως το παρελθόν λόγο της έντονα συμβατικής φύσης που έχει ένα άλμπουμ φωτογραφιών αφού υπηρετεί μια συγκεκριμένη αφήγηση. Στην τελευταία ενότητα του κειμένου γίνεται αναλυτική περιγραφή της εγκατάστασης Family Remade ως προς την μορφή αλλά και το περιεχόμενο. Σκοπός λοιπόν του εικαστικού έργου είναι να δημιουργηθεί μια νέα αφήγηση, μια νέα εκδοχή για το παρελθόν, διαταράσσοντας την οικογενειακή φωτογραφία ως ντοκουμέντο και αποδεικτικό στοιχείο, καθιστώντας ασαφή τα όρια μεταξύ πραγματικού και φαντασιακού. | el |
| heal.abstract | This project has been carried out in the context of the Postgraduate Programme of the Department of Plastic Arts and Sciences of Art of the University of Ioannina, in order to fulfill the MSc award requirements in the Fine Arts Direction. The purpose of the study is the presentation and theoretical support of the artwork I have created for my thesis and, specifically, the installation titled Family Remade. This installation consists of 26 patterns, of small dimensions with graphite, out of which 18 come from the revival of my family file. It is about the reformulation of the family photographic archive and about the translation from one object to another, from a photograph in a drawing with graphite. There are moments in which I myself am not present, but there is a strong emotional relationship with the memory I have inherited from the storytelling and descriptions of photos from my beloved ones. They are photos that anyone of us could have in their own family album. Among these drawings-photographs, I have added 8 additional drawings enriching the family album with images created from storytelling, pictures off the internet, objects - heirlooms, landscapes etc., namely “staged”, made pictures from today. These drawings also borrow the visual language of the photograph. The theme of the installation is the memory. What do we remember? How do we remember it? Do we all remember the same things? More specifically, what role does the family photo album play, which is essentially a personal and family “warehouse” of the memory. So this study refers to the function of memory, and highlights the use of photography as a memory “carrier”. Additionally, what is examined is the relationship between the imagination, memory and photograph, and what is analyzed is the function of the family photo album. We come to the conclusion that, how selective and misleading can the memory be, which is true even when, so-called documents – images do exist. The family photo captures moments and defines the family group, though idealizing the past due to the strongly contractual nature that a photo album has, after serving a particular narrative. The final section of the text is a detailed description of the Family Remade installation when it comes to the form, as well as the content. Therefore, the scope of this artwork is to create a new narrative, a new version of the past, “disrupting” the family photograph as a document and evidence, by blurring the boundaries between the real and the imaginary. | en |
