| heal.abstract | Αξιοποιώντας ένα ογκώδες και αναξιοποίητο, έως τώρα, πρωτογενές αρχειακό υλικό, μελετήθηκαν οι οικονομικές, οι εμπορικές και οι κοινωνικές δραστηριότητες δύο εμπόρων της Κοζάνης, του Κωνσταντίνου Δ. Τακιατζή και του Δημητρίου Κ. Κοεμτζή, τον 19ο αι.. Με τη συγγραφή αυτής της διδακτορικής διατριβής παρουσιάσθηκε η οικονομική ανάπτυξη της Δυτικής Μακεδονίας –ιδίως της Κοζάνης– κατά την ύστερη περίοδο της οθωμανικής κυριαρχίας και, πιο συγκεκριμένα, από τον 18ο ώς τα τέλη περίπου του 19ου αιώνα. Μελετήθηκαν πηγές για πρόσωπα και θεσμούς, καθώς επίσης η δημογραφική, οικονομική, κοινωνική και εκπαιδευτική ανάπτυξη της Κοζάνης, μετά τον 17ο αι., με στόχο να κατανοήσουμε το πλαίσιο δραστηριοποίησης αυτών των εμπόρων. Αναλυτικότερα, οι δύο έμποροι παρουσιάζουν πολλά κοινά σημεία όσον αφορά στις οικονομικές και τις κοινωνικές τους δραστηριότητες. Λειτουργούσαν ως μεταπράτες για τα αγροτικά και βιοτεχνικά προϊόντα της περιοχής Κοζάνης και ευρύτερα της Δυτικής Μακεδονίας, με στόχο την επίτευξη του υψηλότερου δυνατού κέρδους. Κατά τη περίοδο της ενασχόλησής τους με το εμπόριο δημιούργησαν ένα ευρύ εμπορικό δίκτυο, επιδιώκοντας τη διεύρυνση των εμπορικών τους συναλλαγών, την καλύτερη προώθηση των προϊόντων που εμπορεύονταν και τον καλύτερο έλεγχο των οικονομικών τους συναλλαγών. Μάλιστα, οι έμποροι που συγκροτούσαν ένα δίκτυο εμπορεύονταν συγκεκριμένα προϊόντα (γουναρικά, δέρματα, δημητριακά, κρόκο κ. ά.). Επίσης, οι εν λόγω έμποροι δεν περιορίστηκαν μόνο στην άσκηση του εμπορίου. Αντίθετα, επιδόθηκαν σε διάφορες οικονομικού τύπου δραστηριότητες, ανάλογα με τις ευκαιρίες που πρόσφερε η αγορά. Εργάζονταν με σύνεση, χωρίς παρορμητισμό, αποφεύγοντας το ρίσκο, έχοντας ως βασική αρχή την ευκαιριακή εκμετάλλευση κάθε περίστασης. Εν κατακλείδι, οι δύο έμποροι Κ. Τακιατζής και ο Δ. Κοεμτζής τοποθετούνται στην κορυφή της οικονομικό-κοινωνικής πυραμίδας της Κοζάνης για ένα μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα του 19ου αιώνα. Επρόκειτο για άτομα αρχοντικής καταγωγής, με αξιόλογη προσφορά και ευεργεσίες στην κοινωνία της πόλης. Αν και διέφεραν ως προς τα οικονομικά τους μεγέθη, αποτέλεσαν κυρίαρχα μέλη του «σώματος» των Κοζανιτών εμπόρων του 19ου αιώνα. | el |
| heal.abstract | Utilizing a bulky and untapped, until now, primary archival material, the economic, commercial and social activities of two Kozani traders, Konstantinos D. Takiatzis and Dimitrios K. Koemtzis, were studied in the 19th century. PhD thesis presented the economic development of Western Macedonia - especially Kozani - during the late period of Ottoman domination and more specifically from the 18th to the end of the 19th century. Sources have been studied for persons and institutions, as well as the demographic, economic, social and educational development of Kozani after the 17th century, in order to understand the context of activism of these traders. In more detail, the two traders have many points in common in their economic and social activities. They acted as transmitters for agricultural and craft products in the Kozani area and in western Macedonia in order to achieve the highest possible profit. During their time in commerce they set up a wide trading network, seeking to expand their trade, promote their products more efficiently and better control their financial transactions. In fact, the traders who set up a network traded specific products (fur, skins, cereals, yolk, etc.). Also, these traders were not just restricted to trading. Instead, they engaged in various types of economic activities, depending on the opportunities offered by the market. They worked wisely, without impulsivity, avoiding the risk, with the basic principle being the occasional exploitation of every occasion. In conclusion, the two merchants K. Takiatzis and D. Koemtzis have been at the top of the economic and social pyramid of Kozani for a long time in the 19th century. They were of noble origin, with a valuable contribution and benefits to the city society. Although they differed in size, they were dominant members of the "body" of 19th-century Kozani merchants. | en |
