heal.abstractΣτόχος της παρούσας εργασίας αποτελεί η εξέταση των όψεων του πολιτικού στον Αίαντα του Σοφοκλή. Το πλαίσιο έρευνας των κεφαλαίων της εργασίας μας προσδιορίζεται ως εξής: στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο της εργασίας μας με τίτλο «Αίας-Οδυσσέας: δύο τύποι πολιτικής αρετής», εξετάζουμε τη σχέση Αίαντα-Οδυσσέα υπό το συγκεκριμένο πρίσμα της αντιπαράθεσης του παλαιού ανταγωνιστικού κώδικα ηθικής και του νέου κώδικα συνεργατικών αξιών που θέτει η πόλις. Στη μελέτη μας μας απασχολεί το ζήτημα της κρίσεως των όπλων του Αχιλλέα στη σύγχρονη εποχή του τραγικού ποιητή. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό παρουσιάζει επίσης ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον η πολιτική νοηματοδότηση δύο βασικών αρχών του αρχαϊκού κώδικα, της σωφροσύνης και της ύβρεως και ποιο από τα δύο μοντέλα εκπροσωπεί ο Αίαντας και ο Οδυσσέας. Παράλληλα, εξετάζουμε τη λειτουργία της ασπίδας του Αίαντα, του κατεξοχήν του συμβόλου στο ομηρικό έπος, στα νέα πολιτικά συμφραζόμενα του 5ου π.Χ. αιώνα. Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο της εργασίας μας με τίτλο «Η φύση και τα όρια της πολιτικής εξουσίας», εξετάζουμε ένα μείζον πολιτικό πρόβλημα που προκύπτει μετά την αυτοκτονία του ομώνυμου πρωταγωνιστή, του Αίαντα, τη διαμάχη για τον ενταφιασμό του σώματός του. Στους δύο διαδοχικούς αγώνες λόγων (Μενέλαος-Τεύκρος και Αγαμέμνονας-Τεύκρος-Οδυσσέας), τα λεξιλογικά δεδομένα αποκαλύπτουν το πώς αντιλαμβάνονται οι πολιτικοί ηγέτες, ο Μενέλαος και ο Αγαμέμνονας, τη σχέση μεταξύ αρχόντων και αρχομένων.el
heal.abstractThe aim of this thesis is to examine the aspects of politics in the Ajax of Sophocles. The context of our thesis specified like this: in the first chapter of our thesis with the title “Ajax-Odysseus: two types of politic virtue” we investigate the relation of Ajax and Odysseus under the special aspect of the conflict between the old competitive code of ethics and the new code of co-operative values set by the city. In our study we are concerned with the question about the judgment of Achilles’ arms in the modern age of the tragic poet. In this context, is also of particular interest the political meaning of two basic principles of the archaic code, sophrosyne and hybris and which of the two models represents the Ajax and the Odysseus. At the same time, we examine the function of the shield of Ajax, the foremost symbol in the Homeric epic, in the new political contexts of the 5th century BC. In the second chapter of our paper with the title “Nature and the limits of political power”, we look at a major political problem that arises after the suicide of the main hero of the tragedy, the Ajax, the controversy over the burial of his body. In the two successive quarrels (Menelaus-Teukros and Agamemnon-Teukros-Odysseus), the lexical data reveal how the political leaders, Menelaus and Agamemnon, perceive the relationship between lords and nobles.en
