| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα μελέτη επιδιώκει να περιγράψει τις αναπαραστάσεις της γυναικείας ομοφυλοφιλίας, όπως αποτυπώθηκαν σε ελληνικά πεζογραφικά και ποιητικά έργα κατά τις πρώτες δεκαετίες του 20ού αιώνα. Η κειμενική απόδοση του ομοερωτισμού αποτελεί σε κάθε περίπτωση ένα σημαίνον σχόλιο αναφορικά με τη σεξουαλική πρακτική, τη γυναικεία ψυχοσύνθεση και την αποκάλυψη του σώματος. Από τον Βάρναλη ως τη Ρωζέττη και από τη Μυρτιώτισσα ως τον Θεοτοκά η έρευνα επιζητά να ανιχνεύσει τις συγκλίσεις και τις αποκλίσεις των δημιουργών από τον λόγο περί ομοφυλοφιλικής σεξουαλικότητας των πρώτων σεξολόγων και ψυχιάτρων στα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα αλλά και τα δάνεια από τους ευρωπαίους ομότεχνούς τους σχετικά με την περιγραφή και τη νοηματοδότηση του λεσβιασμού. Παράλληλα, θα επιχειρηθεί να καταστεί σαφές ότι η κάθε λογοτεχνική αναπαράσταση μίας τόσο κοινωνικά περιθωριοποιημένης σεξουαλικότητας δεν ήταν παρά queer: αλλόκοτη και παράξενη αλλά ταυτόχρονα απολύτως αποσταθεροποιητική για τις ηγεμονικές και κανονιστικές σεξουαλικές κατηγοριοποιήσεις και για τη νόρμα της φυσικής συνέχειας σώματος, φύλου και επιθυμίας. Η αναταραχή που επέφερε η περιγραφή μίας μη ετεροφυλοφιλικής ερωτικής έλξης δεν αφορούσε μόνο την αποδόμηση της κυριαρχίας της ετεροσεξουαλικότητας αλλά επεκτάθηκε και σε ανατροπές του κοινωνικού φύλου, της διπολικής απομόνωσης της έμφυλης ταυτότητας, των φυσικοποιημένων ρόλων του έμφυλου εαυτού και των κανονιστικών οριοθετήσεων του σώματος. Η έρευνα θα εστιάσει και στα κοινωνικοπολιτισμικά συμφραζόμενα, τη σεξουαλική ελευθεριότητα αλλά και τους θεσμικούς περιορισμούς που χρειάστηκε να αντιμετωπίσουν οι συγγραφείς, χαρτογραφώντας, έτσι, το είδος του λόγου για το σεξ που κυκλοφορούσε εντός της ελληνικής κοινωνίας τη δεδομένη ιστορική στιγμή. Ακόμη, θα προσεγγίσει με ταυτοτικούς όρους τις σεξουαλικότητες, αποφεύγοντας ωστόσο τις ουσιοκρατικές ιδεοληψίες, θεωρώντας τη ρητή ονομασία και την κατηγοριοποίηση επιβεβλημένες για μία αόρατη σεξουαλικότητα, όπως ο λεσβιασμός στις αρχές του προηγούμενου αιώνα. Με την ομοφυλόφιλη γυναίκα να παραμένει ως και σήμερα υπαρκτά ανύπαρκτη στα πλαίσια μίας συντηρητικής και οπισθοδρομικής κοινωνίας, όπως της ελληνικής, το τέλος της αναγνωστικής διαδικασίας της παρούσας μεταπτυχιακής διατριβής επιδιώκει τη δημιουργία προβληματισμών σχετικά με τις μεταβολές στην πρόσληψη και την αξιολόγηση του ομοερωτισμού κοινωνικά και λογοτεχνικά από τις αρχές του 20ού αιώνα ως και την εποχή μας. | el |
| heal.abstract | This thesis aims to describe the representations of female homosexuality as expressed in Greek prose and poetry during the first decades of the 20th century. The textual representation of homoeroticism is certainly a statement about the sexual practice, the female mentality and the revelation of the body. From Varnalis and Rosetti to Myrtiotissa and Theotokas, my research seeks to detect the convergence and divergence of these authors with regards to the work of the first sexologists and psychiatrists on homoerotic sexuality at the end of the 19th century. Moreover, it studies the elements that they borrowed from their European fellow-authors concerning the description and the signification of lesbianism. My research attempts to make clear that any literary representations of such a marginalized sexuality cannot be anything but queer: peculiar and strange, yet at the same time has a destabilizing effect on the hegemonic and normative sexual categorisations as well as the norm for the natural continuity of body, gender, and desire. The debates caused by the description of a non-heterosexual attraction concerned not only the deconstruction of the prevailing heterosexuality, but also expanded to overturn the notions of gender, the isolation of gender identity, the naturalised roles of the gendered self, as well as the normative limits of the body. The present study will also focus on the sociocultural context, the sexual freedom, but also the statutory restrictions that the authors had to face; thus, it will depict the genre of speech with respect to sex that existed and was expressed within the Greek society at that point in time. Furthermore, my thesis will approach sexualities with identificatory terms, yet avoiding any essentiatlist fixed ideologies, deeming the clear denomination and categorisation to be imposed on an invisible sexuality, such as lesbianism, at the beginning of the previous century. As the homosexual female continues to exist as nonexistent within the conservative and regressive Greek society, the aim of this thesis is to stir the reader to ponder over the changes in the way homoeroticism has been interpreted and assessed in society and in literature, from the beginning of the 20th century until today. | en |
