heal.abstractΚατά τον 18ο αι., εποχή η οποία ενδιαφέρει τη συγκεκριμένη εργασία, η επίδραση της κλασικής αρχαιότητας είναι μεγάλη. Η πρόσληψη του ρωμαϊκού και ελληνικού παρελθόντος, από τους επιφανείς άντρες της Αμερικής, τους έδωσε πολλά παραδείγματα προς μίμηση αλλά και προς αποφυγή. Αυτά τα παραδείγματα δεν ανευρίσκονται μόνο στις τέχνες ή στις θεωρίες περί ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων, αλλά αποτελούν και τον φάρο καθοδήγησης στην πολιτική σκέψη των μυαλών της εποχής. Εκείνη την εποχή, ο κόσμος έγινε μάρτυρας της αλλαγής στο πολιτικό σκηνικό, με την επανάσταση των Άγγλων αποίκων στο Νέο Κόσμο κατά του Βρετανού μονάρχη και, οι οποίοι, θέσπισαν εξ αρχής και εκ θεμελίων ένα δικό τους Σύνταγμα. Πόση επίδραση άσκησε η γνώση των αρχαίων συγγραφέων πάνω στους πολιτικούς άντρες της εποχής και πώς το Σύνταγμα των Η.Π.Α. βρήκε την έμπνευσή του στο πολίτευμα της Res Publica; Αυτό είναι το κύριο ερώτημα.el
heal.abstractDuring the 18th century, the main era of interest of this thesis, the influence of the classical antiquity is great. Understanding, and finally using, the greek and roman antiquity, the prominent men of America, had many examples to mimic and to avoid. These examples are not only found at the arts or the human rights theories, but they are the guiding light for the political thought of that time. The world, these years, witnessed the political change, with the Revolution of the English colonists, against the British King, and their creation, from base, of their Constitution. How much were the Founding Fathers of U.S.A. influenced by their knowledge of the ancient writers (historians and philosophers alike) and in what way the United States of America found its Inspiration on the roman form of government – Res Publica? These are the main questions of the thesis.en
