heal.abstractΤο Ολοκαύτωμα είναι ένα γεγονός που διατηρεί ανοιχτό το ερώτημα της ευθύνης σε πολιτικό, ιστορικό και ηθικό επίπεδο. Στην παρούσα εργασία εξετάζεται ο τρόπος με τον οποίο η ευθύνη ενσωματώνεται στη μουσειακή αφήγηση. Ως βασικό αναλυτικό εργαλείο χρησιμοποιείται η έννοια της κοινοτοπίας του κακού, όπως διατυπώνεται από τη Χάννα Άρεντ, καθώς και η κριτική των νεωτερικών στοιχείων που διαμόρφωσαν το Ολοκαύτωμα, σύμφωνα με τις θέσεις των Μπάουμαν, Άντερς και Στάινφελντ. Η δαιμονοποίηση, κατεξοχήν τρόπος με τον οποίο αντιμετωπίστηκαν οι αυτουργοί, αποτελεί ένα στερεότυπο δύσκολο να ξεπεραστεί: παρέχει την αίσθηση της ασφάλειας καθώς εξορίζει τη δυσάρεστη παρουσία τους στη σφαίρα του παράλογου και του εξωανθρώπινου. Μέσα από τη μελέτη τριών περιπτώσεων, της έκθεσης της Τοπογραφίας του Τρόμου στο Βερολίνο, του μουσείου του Yad Vashem στην Ιερουσαλήμ και του μουσείου στο στρατόπεδο συγκέντρωσης γυναικών του Ravensbrück της Γερμανίας, επιχειρείται μια ανάγνωση του ρόλου των αυτουργών στην ανάπτυξη των εκθέσεων και του συγκειμένου μέσα στο οποίο κάθε φορά παρουσιάζονται. Με αυτό τον τρόπο αξιολογείται η πολιτική και η ποιητική της κάθε έκθεσης. Η έννοια της ευθύνης δεν μπορεί παρά να μελετηθεί εντός της ανθρώπινης δραστηριότητας, συνδεόμενη άμεσα με την έννοια της κρίσης και της απόφασης.el
heal.abstractThe Holocaust keeps the question of responsibility open, at a political, historical and moral level. This study examines the way in which responsibility enters the museum narrative. The key analytical tool of this dissertation is the concept of the banality of evil defined by Hannah Arendt, along with the critique towards the elements of modernity that shaped the Holocaust, according to the theoretical approaches of Bauman, Anders and Steinfeld. The most common way in which perpetrators are being treated is demonization, a solid stereotype difficult to overcome, as it provides a sense of security and banishes the unpleasant presence of the perpetrators in the realm of the absurd and non-human. Through three case studies, the Topography of Terror in Berlin, the museum of Yad Vashem in Jerusalem and the museum inside the Ravensbrück women's concentration camp in Germany, this dissertation attempts to examine the role of the perpetrators and its context within the museum narrative. Thereby an effort to evaluate the politics and the poetics of these exhibitions is made. The notion of responsibility can only be studied in the context of human activity, directly linked to the sense of judgment and decision making.en
