An analysis of the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic flow of a viscous and electrically conducting fluid past to a plate by the presence of radiation is considered. The fluid is a gray, absorbing-emitting but nonscattering medium and the Rosseland approximation is used to describe the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. Analytical solutions for the mean temperature, velocity and the magnetic field have been derived and the effect of the radiation on the temperature is discussed.en
