| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία σχετίζεται με το αστικό πράσινο και τον ρόλο του στη μείωση των επιπτώσεων της κλιματικής αλλαγής, με έμφαση σε έννοιες όπως η κλιματική αλλαγή, το αστικό περιβάλλον και η αστική θερμική νησίδα. Εξετάζονται επίσης βασικές πτυχές της βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης και του περιβαλλοντικού σχεδιασμού των πόλεων. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στις πράσινες υποδομές, όπως τα αστικά πάρκα, τα φυτεμένα δώματα και οι κάθετοι κήποι, καθώς και στον ρόλο τους στη βελτίωση της ποιότητας του αέρα, στη μείωση των ρύπων και στη δέσμευση του διοξειδίου του άνθρακα. Παράλληλα, αναλύονται οι λειτουργίες του αστικού πρασίνου στη διαχείριση των όμβριων υδάτων και στην ενίσχυση της ανθεκτικότητας των πόλεων. Επιπλέον, η εργασία συνδέει το αστικό πράσινο με ζητήματα βιοποικιλότητας, οικοσυστημικών υπηρεσιών και περιβαλλοντικής δικαιοσύνης, αναδεικνύοντας τη συμβολή του στην κοινωνική ευημερία και στην ποιότητα ζωής των κατοίκων. | el |
| heal.abstract | This thesis focuses on urban greenery and its role in mitigating the impacts of climate change, with emphasis on key concepts such as climate change, the urban environment, and the urban heat island effect. It also addresses broader themes of sustainable development and environmental planning in cities. Special attention is given to green infrastructure, including urban parks, green roofs, and vertical gardens, as well as their contribution to improving air quality, reducing pollutants, and enhancing carbon dioxide sequestration. In addition, the study examines the role of urban greenery in stormwater management and strengthening urban resilience. Furthermore, the thesis explores issues related to biodiversity, ecosystem services, and environmental justice, highlighting the importance of urban green spaces in promoting social well-being and improving the overall quality of life in urban areas. | en |
