| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία εξετάζει τη μουσική ζωή της Σμύρνης κατά την περίοδο 1907–1922, όπως αυτή αποτυπώνεται μέσα από τα δημοσιεύματα της σμυρναϊκής εφημερίδας Αμάλθεια. Η Σμύρνη, ένα από τα σημαντικότερα οικονομικά και πολιτιστικά κέντρα της Οθωμανικής Αυτοκρατορίας στα τέλη του 19ο και τις αρχές του 20ού αιώνα, αναπτύσσει μια πλούσια και δυναμική πολιτιστική ζωή, ως αποτέλεσμα της οικονομικής της ευημερίας και της πολυπολιτισμικής της σύνθεσης. Μέσα από την αποδελτίωση όλων των διαθέσιμων φύλλων της εφημερίδας για την περίοδο 1907–1922, εντοπίζονται και παρουσιάζονται όλα τα δημοσιεύματα που σχετίζονται με τη μουσική ζωή της Σμύρνης, σε όλες τις κοινωνικές και καλλιτεχνικές της εκφάνσεις. Παράλληλα σχολιάζονται βασικές εξελίξεις τόσο στην μουσική, όσο και σε άλλες παραστατικές τέχνες που συνδέονται με αυτή. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται σε μουσικές λέσχες και θεατρική ζωή, πολιτιστικούς συλλόγους, εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα, εκκλησιαστική μουσική, καθώς και στις κοινωνικές σχέσεις της ελληνικής κοινότητας της Σμύρνης με έναυσμα τη μουσική δραστηριότητα της. Η Αμάλθεια, μία από τις σημαντικότερες εφημερίδες της εποχής, προσφέρει πολύτιμο υλικό για την κατανόηση της πολιτιστικής φυσιογνωμίας της πόλης. Η ανάλυση του περιεχομένου της, σε συνάρτηση με την ιστορική συγκυρία και τον ιδεολογικό της προσανατολισμό, συμβάλλει στη διαμόρφωση μιας πιο σύνθετης εικόνας για τον ρόλο της μουσικής στον δημόσιο λόγο και την πολιτιστική ταυτότητα του ελληνισμού της Σμύρνης. | el |
| heal.abstract | The present thesis examines the musical life of Smyrna during the period 1907–1922, as it is reflected through the publications of the Smyrnaic newspaper Amaltheia. Smyrna, one of the most important economic and cultural centers of the Ottoman Empire in the late 19th and early 20th century, develops a rich and dynamic cultural life as a result of its economic prosperity and its multicultural composition Through the indexing of all available issues of the newspaper for the period 1907–1922, all publications related to the musical life of Smyrna music are identified and presented, in all its social and artistic aspects. At the same time, key developments are commented upon both in music and in other performing arts connected to it. Special emphasis is given to music clubs and theatrical life, cultural associations, educational institutions, ecclesiastical music, as well as the social relations of the Greek community of Smyrna prompted by its musical activity. Amaltheia, one of the most important newspapers of the time, offers valuable material for the understanding of the city’s cultural physiognomy. The analysis of its content, in connection with the historical context and its ideological orientation, contributes to shaping a more complex image of the role of music in the public discourse and the cultural identity of Hellenism in Smyrna. | en |
