| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία διερευνά τη δράση και τον ρόλο της Φιλαρμονικής του Δήμου Ηρακλείου στο κοινωνικό και πολιτιστικό γίγνεσθαι της πόλης από τον 19ο αιώνα έως σήμερα. Στόχος της μελέτης είναι η ανάδειξη της φιλαρμονικής όχι απλώς ως μουσικού σχήματος, αλλά ως θεσμού με εκπαιδευτική, κοινωνική και πολιτιστική λειτουργία. Παράλληλα, εξετάζεται η ιστορική πορεία των φιλαρμονικών στην Ελλάδα και την Ευρώπη, καθώς και οι πολιτισμικές διαδράσεις μεταξύ Επτανήσων και Κρήτης. Η μεθοδολογία της έρευνας στηρίχθηκε σε βιβλιογραφική τεκμηρίωση και επιτόπια αρχειακή έρευνα, καθώς και σε συνεντεύξεις με βασικά πρόσωπα της τοπικής μουσικής ζωής, όπως ο εκλιπών αρχιμουσικός Ιωάννης Τζωρτζάκης. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε στην αποδελτίωση ιστορικών πηγών και στον εντοπισμό μαρτυριών από τον τοπικό τύπο και τα δημοτικά αρχεία. Τα βασικά ευρήματα αναδεικνύουν τους λόγους και τις συνθήκες που συνέβαλαν στη δημιουργία και τη σταδιακή εξέλιξη της Φιλαρμονικής από απλό μουσικό σχήμα σε ενεργό πολιτιστικό οργανισμό. Την ιδιωτική πρωτοβουλία φιλοπρόοδων και επιφανών που έγινε δημοτικός φορέας. Επισημαίνεται η συμμετοχή της φιλαρμονικής στα κοινά της πόλης στο πέρασμα των δεκαετιών, η συμβολή της στον τουρισμό και στις διαπολιτισμικές ανταλλαγές. Δίνεται επίσης ιδιαίτερη σημασία στην εκπαιδευτική της διάσταση, στην παροχή δωρεάν μαθημάτων και στη συμβολή της στη διάδοση της μουσικής παιδείας. Συμπερασματικά, η Φιλαρμονική Ηρακλείου συνιστά ένα ζωντανό κύτταρο πολιτισμού το οποίο, παρά τις προκλήσεις (όπως η έλλειψη μόνιμων μουσικών ή κατάλληλης στέγασης), εξακολουθεί να εμπλουτίζει τη μουσική και κοινωνική ζωή του Ηρακλείου. | el |
| heal.abstract | This study explores the activity and role of the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Heraklion in the social and cultural life of the city from the 19th century to the present day. The aim of the research is to highlight the Philharmonic not merely as a musical ensemble, but as an institution with educational, social, and cultural functions. In parallel, the historical trajectory of philharmonic ensembles in Greece and Europe is examined, along with the cultural interactions between the Ionian Islands and Crete. The methodology of the research is based on bibliographic documentation and archival fieldwork, as well as interviews with key figures from the local musical community, such as the late conductor Ioannis Tzortzakis. Special emphasis was placed on the analysis of historical sources and the identification of testimonies from the local press and municipal records. The main findings illuminate the reasons and conditions that contributed to the creation and gradual evolution of the Philharmonic from a simple musical group into an active cultural organization. The transformation from private initiative by progressive and prominent citizens into a municipal institution is emphasized. The Philharmonic’s long-standing engagement in public life, its contribution to tourism and intercultural exchange, are also highlighted. Particular attention is given to its educational dimension, namely the provision of free lessons and its role in promoting musical education. In conclusion, the Heraklion Philharmonic constitutes a living cell of culture which, despite ongoing challenges (such as the lack of permanent musicians or appropriate infrastructure), continues to enrich the musical and social life of the city. | en |
