| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία διερευνά τη συμβολή των αυτοφυών βοτάνων της Κρήτης στη βιώσιμη καλλιέργεια της ελιάς. Μέσα από βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση, αναλύεται η πλούσια χλωριδική ποικιλότητα του νησιού και η σημασία της για την προστασία της εδαφικής υγείας, τη μείωση των εχθρών και ασθενειών, την ενίσχυση της βιοποικιλότητας και τη σταθεροποίηση των αγροτικών οικοσυστημάτων. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε στη χρήση πτητικών οργανικών ενώσεων από τα βότανα, στην έλξη ωφέλιμων εντόμων και στην αντιδιαβρωτική δράση της φυτικής κάλυψης, μέσα από πρακτικές που προάγουν την αγροοικολογική προσέγγιση. Επιπλέον, παρουσιάστηκαν παραδείγματα και πιλοτικές εφαρμογές από την Κρήτη, όπου τοπικά είδη όπως το δίκταμο και η μαντζουράνα ενσωματώθηκαν επιτυχώς σε συστήματα συγκαλλιέργειας ή χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για τη δημιουργία καινοτόμων αγροδιατροφικών προϊόντων. Μέσα από την κριτική ανάλυση των αποτελεσμάτων, επιβεβαιώθηκε ότι η χρήση των αυτοφυών βοτάνων μπορεί να αποτελέσει ένα ουσιαστικό εργαλείο για την ενίσχυση της ανθεκτικότητας των ελαιώνων απέναντι στις κλιματικές πιέσεις και τις ανάγκες της σύγχρονης βιώσιμης γεωργίας. Η εργασία καταλήγει ότι η στρατηγική αξιοποίηση της φυσικής χλωρίδας της Κρήτης, συνδυάζοντας επιστημονική τεκμηρίωση και τοπική αγροτική γνώση, μπορεί να συμβάλει καθοριστικά στη διαμόρφωση ενός αειφόρου και ανταγωνιστικού μοντέλου ελαιοκομίας, προσαρμοσμένου στις ανάγκες της εποχής και τις προκλήσεις του μέλλοντος. | el |
| heal.abstract | This paper investigates the contribution of native herbs of Crete to the sustainable cultivation of olive trees. Through a literature review, the rich floral diversity of the island and its importance for protecting soil health, reducing pests and diseases, enhancing biodiversity and stabilizing agricultural ecosystems are analyzed. Particular emphasis was placed on the use of volatile organic compounds from herbs, the attraction of beneficial insects and the anti-corrosion effect of plant cover through practices that promote an agroecological approach. In addition, examples and pilot applications from Crete were presented, where local species such as dittany and marjoram were successfully integrated into intercropping systems or used to create innovative agri-food products. Through the critical analysis of the results, it was confirmed that the use of native herbs can be an essential tool to enhance the resilience of olive groves to climate pressures and the needs of modern sustainable agriculture. The paper concludes that the strategic use of the natural flora of Crete, combining scientific documentation and local agricultural knowledge, can contribute decisively to the development of a more sustainable and competitive olive growing model, adapted to the needs of the present and the challenges of the future. | en |
