| heal.abstract | Η Ελληνική Βραχυκερατική φυλή αποτελεί την πολυπληθέστερη αυτόχθονη φυλή βοοειδών στην Ελλάδα, παρά το γεγονός ότι είναι ένα είδος απειλούμενο και προς εξαφάνιση. Χαρακτηριστικό γνώρισμα της εν λόγω φυλής είναι η ανθεκτικότητα και η προσαρμοστικότητα στις δύσκολες καιρικές και περιβαλλοντικές συνθήκες. Τα εν λόγω βοοειδή είναι περιζήτητα στην αγορά για το κρέας που παράγουν, καθώς τα προϊόντα τους θεωρούνται βιολογικά. Επιπλέον, ως φυλή έχει σημαντικά περιβαλλοντικά και οικονομικά οφέλη για την Ελλάδα. Όπως συνηθίζεται, τα βραχυκέρατα ζώα εκτρέφονται σύμφωνα με το εκτατικό σύστημα εκτροφής, που σημαίνει ότι αξιοποιούν τη βλάστηση της ελληνικής υπαίθρου, ενώ οι απαιτήσεις τους για φροντίδα από την πλευρά των παραγωγών είναι μηδαμινές και περιορίζονται μόνο στη χορήγηση της τροφής και του καταλύματος σε δύσκολες καιρικές συνθήκες κατά κύριο λόγο. Στη βιβλιογραφία αναφέρονται ως ζώα με υψηλές αναπαραγωγικές αποδόσεις και συγκεκριμένα φαινοτυπικά χαρακτηριστικά ως προς την εξωτερική τους εμφάνιση. Ωστόσο, για απομονωμένους πληθυσμούς η αναπαραγωγή τους βασίζεται κατά βάση στη φυσική οχεία. Η παρούσα εργασία έχει ως στόχο να αναδείξει σημαντικές πτυχές της ιστορίας της Ελληνικής Βραχυκερατικής φυλής βοοειδών, καθώς επίσης και το σημαίνοντα ρόλο της ως προς την αγροτική ανάπτυξη της χώρας μας. Επιπλέον, γίνεται ανασκόπηση τόσο των χαρακτηριστικών της φυλής, όσο και των συστημάτων εκτροφής, παραγωγής και αναπαραγωγής της. Παράλληλα, γίνεται λόγος για την ποιότητα του παραγόμενου κρέατος από τα βραχυκερατικά ζώα. | el |
| heal.abstract | The Greek Brachykeratiki breed is the most numerous autochthonous breed of cattle in Greece, despite the fact that it is a threatened and endangered species. A characteristic feature of this breed is its resilience and adaptability to difficult weather and environmental conditions. These cattle are in demand in the market for the meat quality that they produce, as their products are considered organic. In addition, as a race it has significant environmental and economic benefits for Greece. As is customary, shorthorns are reared according to the extensive farming system, which means that they take advantage of the vegetation of the Greek countryside, while their requirements for care form producers are minimal and limited only to the provision of food and shelter in difficult weather conditions mainly. In the literature, they referred to as animals with high reproductive yields and specific phenotypic characteristics in terms of their external appearance. However, for isolated populations their reproduction is mainly based on natural transmission. This work aims to highlight important aspects of the history of the Greek Vrachykeratiki cattle breed, as well as its important role in the agricultural development of our country. Additionally, both the characteristics of the breed and its breeding, production and breeding systems are reviewed. Also, there is a talk about the quality of the meat produced by animals of the Vrachykeratiki breed. | en |
