Το περιοδικό "Εκπαίδευσις" και η κατάσταση της παιδείας την περίοδο 1892-1895 (Master thesis)
The purpose of this thesis is to demonstrate the educational problems of 1892-1895 period as they were then presented by “Ekpaidefsis” magazine during the Papamarkos-Oikonomou dispute. The methodology that has been implemented is the historical, as the thesis refers to a specific educational circumstance of the past in Greece. The analysis was done in direct relation to the historical, social and educational framework, in which the magazine was created. In conclusion, the study shows that the problems of the Greek educational system from 1892-1895 were mostly to do with the lack of essential primary education, the inadequate skills of the schoolteachers, their salary cuts, their dismissals and their redeployments, the abolishment of teachers’ schools and the competition for the authorship of primary schoolbooks.
