The present study refers to the evaluation of group procedures of a psychoeducational program of six meetings (duration: 6 weeks), aiming at the development of forgiveness, the reduction of anger, the increase of empathy and social skills, using the technique of story telling. The sample consisted of 30 children of the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade, aged 9 – 12, coming from the city of Ioannina. The variants studied, which refer to group procedures, are: the therapeutic factors, the perception of the relationship to the coordinators and the therapeutic alliance. More specifically, we examined the existence of differentiation at the beginning and the end of the program, regarding the variants mentioned above and if any of them were correlated. The tools used for measuring the variants above were: the Psychoeducational Group Alliance Scale for Children (Brouzos, Vassilopoulos, & Baourda, 2018), which was filled in by the group members at the end of each meeting, the Therapeutic Factors Inventory of 25 sentences (Yalom, 1995), which was filled in at the 2nd, 4th and 6th meeting, the Therapeutic Factor Inventory-8 (Tasca, Cabrera, Kristjansson, Macnair-Semands, Joyce,& Ogrodniczuk, 2016), which was filled in only at the 2nd meeting, the Barrett-Lenard Relationship Inventory: FormOS-40 (1962), which was filled in at the 2nd and 6th meeting and the CALPAS-C, California Psychotherapy Alliance Scale (Gaston & Marmar, 1994), which was filled in at the 1st, 3rd and 5th meeting. With regard to the results, it was found that the therapeutic factors of the three moments that were evaluated were most developed during the second meeting, thus already from the initial group meetings. A significant increase was also observed in the variant of therapeutic alliance between the beginning and the end of the program, whereas an increase was generally observed, meeting after meeting. In addition, a statistically significant difference in the participants’ perception of the coordinators appeared to exist between the initial and final meetings, with the best mean in the overall perception of the coordinators at the second meeting, compared to the sixth. Within the same tool, the two features of the coordinators, the Level of Regard and unconditional Acceptance had a high mean. Finally, the correlation analysis showed a statistically significant relation between the therapeutic alliance and the therapeutic factors only at the beginning of the program, while a correlation also existed between the variants of the overall perception of the coordinator and the level of regard and unconditional acceptance at the beginning as well as the end of psychoeducation. In total, it is obvious through the discussion of the present survey that the appearance of therapeutic factors is influenced by the design of the psychoeducational program and the selection of activities; that the appearance of therapeutic factors contributes to the development of the therapeutic alliance and that the coordinators’ behaviors, such as the level of regard and unconditional acceptance towards the participants can be decisive for the efficiency of the program.
