Disposal of toxic waste is emerging as a major environmental and public health concern in Greece. Much of the concern relating to this problem evolves around their storage, disposal and fate in the environment This paper presents various issues related to the generation and disposal, particularly focusing on the environmental priorities of Greek government in view of the adaptation to the European Union standards.
