| heal.abstract | A whole tow of documents at the Historical Archives of Ioannina, at the beginning of the 20 century, reveals a deep concern for the past of a major national questions. The documents that are published here, regard the Northern Epirus question at one of its critical phases. Firstly, document 1, concerns the statement which makes the vice governor of the Margarition government of Prevesa to the central government of Epirus. The writer refers to the composition of the population, its Christian and Muslim communities, the Albanian activities and the influence of foreign propaganda related to the Northern Epirus question. Suggested solutions are: the backing away of certain people from the Police Force and their replacement with others, the resignation of employees etc. The other six documents describe activities such as demonstrations and complaints for the Northern Epirus question in the city of Ioannina, in the Pogonia villages, at Konitsa etc. The goal of the demonstrations is the non-repetition of the negotiations and that at the conference table the Northern Question should remain as it is. In addition, the Greek government was asked to commant the army to retake of the Konitsa and Argirocastro area. Despite the Greek complaints, opposed by Italian propaganda, at the Paris conference Northern Epirus was given to Albania and in December 1922 the concession of the Konitsa area to Albania was completed. | el |
