Poetry and Ideology in the filmography of Theodoros Angelopoulos "Eternity and a Day" (Master thesis)
The purpose of the study is to detect and highlight the concept of Poetry and illuminate the Ideological hues in a film representation of, the retained as an alloy, reality of time of one Day that diffuses into Eternity. Space, Time, Memory and Dream are encapsulated and converging, as the empirical and intimate dimensions of human existence are interwoven, reconciled and unified by their cinematic performance. The recast of the eternal questions that universally and timelessly vibrate our consciousness, through a singular multi-sensory cinematic language, affirms the aesthetic and ideological vision of the work of Theo Angelopoulos, as an authentic and integral part of the Greek and worldwide Cinema of Poetry.
