This study examined the effectiveness of a psychoeducational program for the Education of Human Rights for children. The Education of Human Rights mentions on the development, the cultivation and the spreading of a culture of Human Rights, through a communion of knowledge, skills and through a formation of attitudes (Compasito, 2012). The program consists of a brief group intervention with 4-weeks duration, in a sample consisting of student of elementary school, aged 10-12 years and the program aimed at the improvement of attitudes about children’s rights and of the importance of children’s rights, and also aimed at the increase of knowledge and comprehension about children’s rights. The program focused on the knowledge and attitudes about children’s rights, developing the following thematic: 1.Learn about children’s rights (Convention of Children’s Rights, “rights”-“obligations”-“desires”), 2.Understand the connection of rights and their correlation with the everyday life of children, 3.Be aware of the contestants and organizations for children’s rights and 4.Participate in vignettes of violation of children’s rights. The survey involved 57 students aged 10-12 years, of which 27 formed the experimental group and 30 the control group. In order to evaluate the participants’ attitudes, the importance, knowledge and comprehension of children’s rights, self-administered questionnaires were provided, at the beginning, as well as the completion of the program. The results demonstrate that this psychoeducational program of Education to children’s rights is effective in the improvement of the attitudes for self-determination rights, of the importance of children’s rights and also in the increase of the knowledge about children’s rights and of the comprehension of self-determination rights. It is recommended a widespread implementation of the program for the Education of children’s rights to other contexts (e.g. school, home), with sample of teachers and parents.
