Αξιολόγηση του πόνου σε ασθενείς με αγγειακό εγκεφαλικό επεισόδιο και σχέση με καταθλιπτική συμπτωματολογία (Master thesis)
The central neuropathic pain after stroke (GNI) is a major disease and affects about 8% - 35% of patients with SNE, is resistant to medication and surgery and is ranked among the most painful and devastating painful syndromes. The study of central neuropathic pain is a very important objective in modern neuroscience and this work is a contribution to the study of this phenomenon. Aim : The purpose of this study is to investigate and evaluate the presence of pain in patients with acute stroke and to explore the coexistence of mental disorders, specifically depressive disorder and a record of association with pain. Methodology : A correlational, cross – sectional design was designed. The sample consisted of fifty patients hospitalized with acute stroke in the Neurological Clinic of Kavala in the period from October 2009 until May 2010. Results : We found that there is an increase in the duration and severity of bodily pain experienced by patients one month after discharge, and the pain tends to affect the daily lives of most patients. The increase was seen in women more than men. The magnitude of BMI tends to increase the number of days the patient feels pain. One month after discharge, older patients tend to feel physical pain more days than the youngest. Finally, using ordinal regression we achieve to predict the severity of pain one month after discharge with a success rate of 77.6%. Conclusions : We found that the central neuropathic pain depend on physical and psychological factors. Furthermore, it is possible to predict the severity of pain one month after discharge from factors whose values we measure the time of the dismissal.
