Effect of food supplements on spermatogenesis on sperm maturation on epididymis in oligoasthenoteratozoospermic men (Doctoral thesis)

Γιαννάκη, Ανδρομάχη

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse. Approximately one third is attributed to the female factor, one third is attributed to the male factor and one third is caused by a combination of both factors or is unexplained. We evaluated the role of administration of micronutrients (Profertil) in male infertility alleviation. Our search resulted in that Profertil has a beneficial effect on sperm motility in idiopathic oligoasthenospermic mem. This action may be related to the improvement of arginine or due to the action of other antioxidant factors presents in the capsule. Furthermore the zinc content of Profertil stabilizing the structure of chromatin of the spermatozoa may increase their viability.
