The James Tree space - the construction of a hereditarily indecomposable Banach space (Master thesis)

In this master thesis we present the construction of the James Tree space JT, which was, historically, the first example of a separable space which does not contain l1 and whose dual is non-separable. We study decompositions of Banach spaces and the class of hereditarily indecomposable (H.I.) spaces and we present the proof that every H.I. Banach space embeds into l∞. Furthermore, we present the construction of a reflexive H.I. Banach space.
