The present study concerns the evaluation of the group processes of a psychoeducational eight season program on the reduction of anxiety and the increasement of well-being with the use of humor in 10 to 12-year-old primary school children. The sample was represented by 39 students of D, E and F class of primary school, who lived in Arta and Kastoria. The process variables studied were the therapeutic alliance, the group climate, the therapeutic factors and the understanding of the relationship with the coordinator. Specifically, at the end of each meeting the participants completed the Critical Incident Questionnaire (Bloch, Reibstein, Crouch, Holroyd, &Themen, 1979) and the Psychoeducational Group Alliance Scale for Children (Brouzos, Vassilopoulos, &Baourda, under review). At the end of the third, fifth and eighth meeting the participants completed the Group Climate Questionnaire-Short (MacKenzie, 1983) and at the end of the third and eighth meeting they completed the Relationship Inventory (Barrett-Lennard, 1978). Results showed that the Overall Group Climate increased significantly on all three measurements during the program (3rd, 5th and 8th meeting). The therapeutic factor with the highest frequency that mentioned from members during the program was Guidance, which is a cognitive factor and the other two therapeutic factors that appeared during the program were Self-understanding and Acceptance. In addition, a significant increase observed in Therapeutic Alliance from the beginning to the end of the program. With regard to the members’ understanding of their relationship with the coordinator during the program, there has been a significant increase both on the perception of the overall relationship with the coordinator and all subscales (level of regard, empathy, unconditionality, congruence). Correlation analysis of process variables showed that there is a significant correlation between the overall group climate and the members’ understanding of their overall relationship with the coordinator, unconditionality and congruence at the end of the program, while significant correlations were found among the variables of the members’ understanding of their relationship with the coordinator both at the beginning and at the end of the program. Last but not least, the correlation analysis at the beginning of the program between process variables and variables of the effectiveness of the program showed that there is a significant correlation between the Therapeutic Alliance and all Humor variables, as well as between Empathy and some of Anxiety variables. On the other hand, at the end of the program, correlations were found only between the variables of members’ understanding of their relationship with the coordinator and Anxiety variables, but also the variable of Humor Appreciation.
